Guess i cant rule that out. Just surprising that over the years of me doing this, i'd never been told otherwise. Sort of cemented the idea that it was okay.
You have questions? We may have answers.
I also was under the impression you could trap your own door and inside your own quarters without limit, without any restrictions on the belief that if someone had broken in they have already committed a hostile act and if there just happens to be traps laying around because that's how I like to decorate, then that's bad luck for them.

Well you can trap your door by upgrading the trap str on you door, you never could simply lay traps on your door and walk off. The difference is by buying the trap str it only goes off if someone tries to pick your lock. Laying traps on your door will go off if anyone clicks on your door.
Should make a trap that can go on a door that only goes off if someone other then you or someone you gave a key too opens it. I would probably invest in a trap that causes instant death to anyone who fails a 50dc fortitude save and is refreshed every day. Preferably it would kill the person in the most horrible and graphic way so word gets out about it. I doubt anyone will be trying to get into my room after a few examples are made of some foolish thieves heheheh.
The issue is maybe I am seeing if the place is owned so I click on the door to see if it opens and it says locked. Doesn't mean I am trying to break in, or click on it by accident etc. Its why you can't simply blast anyone who touches your door. For the trap str to go off they must try to pick your lock.
Or it is possible that you've only done it to people who were also unaware.
