I can't speak for the Ranger's Runic Studded Leather, but I finally got my hands on the Lesser variant and uh... I think there was an oversight?

Studded leather = Base armor Class: 3, Max Dex Bonus: 4. The actual item is not studded, but regular leather.



In the long run, I guess this one is better as it would give you +1 more AC, but I was planning for studded, so now my character needs different gear to properly use this. Can someone confirm if the regular variant is actually studded or not, please?

I think it's just a misleading name, and not enough people have made it for it to become widely known. Runic is probably the same type.

I mean, padded armor is padded, half-plates are half-plates, breastplates are breastplates, silk-shirts are shirts..... so studded leather should probably be studded leather? Me thinks someone just selected the wrong armor type in the toolset lol.

Glad I saw this before trying to craft one as my character also wont meet the dex requirement.

Note from the owner: Ignore the further ASF reduction, that's due to class thingies. The CON is enchanted onto it.

But that aside... It's very definitely studded leather.
3 base armour, 4 max dexmod.

There are a lot of misleading names in the items.
Usually I note the item type in the wiki so you can actually check what it is. Even if it says Hide armor and it turns it is Padded or something like that.

Battlemedic Armor is listed as Padded on the Wiki, but it's Studded Leather.

Many (all?) of the recipe names already contain the actual armor type for the instances of the armor being erroneously named or not having such listed. Often in () following the item's name.

yep the lesser ranger studded leather has (leather) at the end of its name, so there you go.

Started crafting it since its a big step up from the displacer beast armour.

I can confirm on this date that the Crafting for Lesser Ranger's Studded Leather is not correct.

it yields Leather armor and -not- Studded leather.
