I earlier had trouble with it. It was solved by removing all DwD levels and take it anew.
It has stopped working again, and works and acts as original NWN defensive stance.
I am not sure why, but i have 17 levels of DwD on the character. Might it be, that for some reason once i moved from 8 to 9 uses it just started to treat it like vanilla again?

When did this begin to happen?

Maby two hours before i posted about it?
I am not sure how it behaved directly after level up. But it was not that long ago i turned to this level. So its possible i just missed that it ticked uses again.
The ability gain a use at level 1 and every 2 level from it. So level 17 DwD would have been one of these levels that changed the ability somehow.

Resting changed nothing, nor did clearing it from the quick-slot to apply it again. Nor a relogg.
Not sure about server reset yet.

I rested, had 9 uses of it. And reloggged and suddenly it had turned to 0 uses. Not sure if it's related/tells anyone something. Just thought i'd add that aswell.

I have the same problem, logged on today and Defensive stance was no longer infinite. I have not leveled up or anything, so it is not leveling that changed it.

I mean to post about this yesterday, was too tired and forgot today. But yea, it was happening a friend of mine on their DD earlier on yesterday (the 6th). He hasn't leveled, last level he took was DD, and it's acting like Vanilla, no longer infinite.

Based on the responses. This does not seem to be something unique and isolated. Something has made the change vanish for all dwarven defenders maybe?

Given this 'bug', we might just give DD something else to buff them if you're patient.

I don't play a DD, but the guy I mostly level with on my current main is a DD

This is just a idea for the "buff"

Maby you could remove the stance, and insted give the DD's the stance buff as a permanent buff? It may sound OP but i dont think so, the normal bonus they get was unlimitet anyway. so its just a matter about press the button. the only thing that get more powerfull than before is that the DD's could move in the stance.

It would also mean that the DD can use IE mode while in the stance, so it is a pretty significant buff. On committed DDs I don't think it'd be overwhelmingly strong in comparison to what some other classes can do, but it would make DD a quite strong dump class (all those benefits for just 3 levels!) if the bonuses weren't spread out across DD levels somehow.

Bump Bump. Imagine my surprise when I logged onto my DD to see that defensive stance now actually uses charges.

So please for the love of snuggles fix this, DDs are such a niche class and the last thing they need is an accidental nerf that turns into a feature after being neglected for what seems like forever.

So in conclusion, bumps bumps.

I have the exact same issue.

I had a little break for a month or something, until a few days ago. And it's back to vanilla NwN behavior, with charges, instead of infinite use.

I can see this post has been here for 2 weeks, but still no DM or dev has responded. I even spoke with a DM the other day, and he didn't know anything about possible changes to DD's.

Ummm...bump, I suppose.

Still can't really play my DD due to not-infinite defensive stance.
Is this slowly becoming a feature, or what?

I just logged into my DD to test, and got the same problem.

Never had an issue with it before.

Just took a DD today, first level, right off the bat-single use vanilla NWN stance

A possible fix for this went in with the reset just now. Let us know whether it's still an issue.

On the surface server as a level 3 DwD:

Was without charges upon login -> rested to gain two charges -> used both charges -> charges were depleted, could not reuse Defensive Stance

Rested to gain two charges -> saved character -> logged out -> logged in -> charges were depleted upon login, could not reuse Defensive Stance
