If all swords were mechanically identical, which one would you choose?

I love how the bastard sword looks on an elven model. It's TOO big. It's a little silly. It's bad Snuggybear. Mm, so good.

The short sword of course, it's the "longsword" of the gnomes. Wotan never leaves the inn without it.

*chuckles* Now I cant stop imagining our characters showing up their swords to each other, each repeating the same line "That's no sword, this is a sword!"

Nope, did not mean anything dirty if that's what you're thinking.
Just imagine the scene from the movie, "Crocodile Dundee" and turn it into Arelith.

Excuse me, do you even Gnome? What you are holding there in your hand *Points addressively on the shortswords* is some sort of eating utensil surely?

It is my firmest belif that something not held propperly in both hands is not a sword, leading this conversation onto the edge, (See what I did there).

The Scimitar, it got Curves, say that with me one more time, Curves. And it is the only lady for me.

Sincerely
/Terto Tarquin

ps. Just messing with you, love you both and the shortsword is both good looking and versitile, even if I had made Terto anew he would have been granted the Bastard Sword, just look at the Paladins of Garl.

I honestly can't tell if people are missing the premise of this poll or if scimitar is just an unstoppable meme at this point.

I actually really just like the way scimitars look. Every other sword is too big (hi bastard sword), too small (hi rapier), or has stupid looking models with 1000 spikes on it (hi longsword).

Greatswords are okay, I guess, but I don't like the animations.

I like the rapier, mostly because I like sabers. There's a rapier model that makes a decent approximation. And they're largely smooth and elegant. I'm not fond of the gratuitous spikes and protrusions on other blades.

Yeah, the longsword options are pretty gross, I've only found one combo that doesn't look either painfully basic or like Hellraiser and Edward Scissorhands had a baby. And I miss the rapier-y rapiers of the CEP. Short swords are pretty cool, though. Decent amount of range for looks, can get a decent gladius vibe.

Now, if ALL weapons were mechanically identical? Halberd. All day, every day.

Short sword all day every day baby. You going to be able to use that longsword in a hallway? Nah son. In a doorway? Nah son. In a stairwell? Nah son. Shortsword is the best sword(And historically the 'arming sword' was most popular).

But No. I use the Weapons Reforged overrides. Shortys all day, because aesthetic.
Plays: Durvayas(deleted), Marco(deleted), Hounynrae(NPC), Sinithra Auvry'ndal(rolled), Rauvlin Barrith(Active), Madeline Clavelle(Shelved)
