"What if I pay you off, how much is it?!" The adventuer countered desperately

"Gllllurp" The ooze said tauntingly.

The adventuer fell to his knees in dismay. Who had he angered to have the notorius gelatinous bounty hunter come for him?

The ooze bubbled ominously as a glowing greatsword came glooping out of its inner gelatin.

The adventuer looked on in horror. Whatever madman had created self aware Ooze was surely a danger to all kingdoms of Toril

The Gelatin lurched, ending the adventuer where he knelt. Mercenary work was a bloody job, but an Ooze does what he must for his baby oozlings. One life for another. The circle of life.

The ooze slurped away then, not looking back.

I think it would be pretty funny if done right.

This is getting a bit too wacky. Next, Someone will ask to play an intelligent weapon with an Ego Score.

Oozes are crit immune. I'd play an ooze conlock and be invulnerable

Flumph is missing from these choices and I am disappointed. I opted for gelatinous cube due to this obvious and horrendous oversight.

I will if thats how such a comment comes across. if somebody can not possibly conceive of a way to make something so simple work. which includes obvious limitations/restrictions/balancing/rp of such a thing etc etc etc. then as far as im concerned that is a lack of imagination.

the poll is supposed to be for fun, if even in a fun purely hypothetical setting people are stuggling, then... again, pretty self evident.

The majority of people aren't interested in a broad range of races. Races segregate the playerbase and reduce the possible outcomes of RP. Sometimes the most boring characters are the most foundational. These characters are trope-ridden, predictable & allow other players to play off that predictability.

Don't knock unimaginative as bad. D&D is based on reality, and "specials" come alive because of the mundane. If every other player is an orc, pixie, alufield, tiefling or minotaur ..the setting starts to lose its connection with reality, and subsequently immersion.

Ork you basically outlined my beliefs perfectly to be honest, and I was not saying what i think you think i was saying.

what i said was based only on the imagination of making something crazy work out in this fun setting of the poll. And in this fun setting of the fun thread with the fun poll, if even here one cant conceptualise a way to include such wacky things (NOT THAT THEY SHOULD BE INCLUDED) then that is demonstratively a lack of imagination or an unwillingness to participate in the thread (in which case why are you here? ).

are people afraid if they start fleshing out an idea that it will appear ingame tomorow or something?

polls are not allowed to be used for that kind of thing anyway... its just a bit of wacky, people are taking it a bit too seriously.

Shocking revelation! You can roleplay a animal if you play with a character with animal companion or have a animal as familiar! Been doing that a little with Wotan's Bruva the boar.

But if I had to choose, I would pick minotaur through someday I wish to roleplay a half-drow or a river gnome.
