It's been my experience that some dungeons are hard for some builds, while being a proverbial walk in the park for others.

"EZPZ" should be qualified as "EZPZ for my build" (just in case someone visits for the first time with a different build, they may not have as easy a time at such a low level in their specific character's class/build)

Not to diminish your character's accomplishment... cheers to you for laying waste to it in a proper way at such a low level!

I look forward to seeing more of your Char's heroic exploits in the future!

That area is easy up until you get to the bottom floor... once you get there it ramps up fast. The high priest at the end is usually what gets most people, was with several groups that got killed by that a****** with his infinite storms of vengeance.

an achievement yes but your wizard at level 9 didnt do the clearing, you got lucky with the right summon at the right time, and maybe hit it when the spawns were recycling and not up to full strength.

The true test would be to roll back to level 9 and do it again at night

i didnt get 'lucky' with the right summon

i waited until the place was full.
every room had enemies in it
it *was* night time when i went in

the only thing special about my build is that i was, at the time, a level 9 svirfneblin wizard with transmutation and conjuration gsf

but no yea totally luck no skill involved
had nothing to do with having to panic-break line of sight multiple times and go through about 50 heal kits no no not at all

i also didnt get lucky with the right summon as i said b4 btw
i have [and had at the time] every elemental stream
picked the right one for the situation

I'm curious as to why I'm seeing hate on a thread this cool. When someone does something amazing, why would you ever respond with negativity? That just shouts immaturity and is the type of behavior I, and many others, feel is unnecessary in this community. Especially in regards with a new player. When someone new joins the server we should be giving them appreciation that they can continue to help us bring life to such an old game with a great community instead of getting upset at them for clearing a dungeon well before they were within level range of it. Which is an odd thing to get upset about if you ask me.... Anyway, I'm done rambling and I do mean all this in the nicest way possible. We're a community that's tightly knit over a very VERY old game. So let's treat each other with a bit more respect. And Lastly, Filfred my MAN. You absolute LEGEND! Seeing you solo Malar, and then seeing screenshots of you taking on the Sibayad Black Orcs at level 12? You absolute unit. You are by far one of my favorite new players on this server and I can't wait to watch how you grow as a player and to see your future deeds.

I kind of expected this thread to move in such a direction.

Yes, soloing the Malarite Temple at level 9 is very impressive, no matter the class and build, but creating a thread to what may be perceived as “boast” about this achievement is unlikely to net you many positive responses. :)

That’s why I feel like it’d be best to close this thread before people start calling each other names over a trivial topic like this. We’re all members of an awesome community, after all!

Why would anyone be upset/envious over something as trivial as an achievement in a videogame? A bit off, if you ask me.

Dare I say it even seems a little sad if a negative response is apparently what we should expect?

Hats off to Filfred, whom I know for a fact managed this with some powerful consumeables, planning and knowledge of the game, not through something as contrived as doing the dungeon during the day (what?).

Filfred is a boss. My wizard's still get killed by swashbucklers.

Looking forward to what your roleplay brings to the server and impressed with the RP between Alastair and Filfred so far!

So we can't brag about things for fear of hurting other people's feelings? I don't think that should be the case on this server. If you perform an impressive feat then you should be allowed to boast about it. He LITERALLY cleared Malar temple at level 9. If that's not worthy of boasting then I don't know what is, to be quite honest. The forum is the exact kind of place where you should go to post these types of things. The moral of the story shouldn't be "Don't brag about your achievements no matter how good they might be" but instead it should be "If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all" like most of our parents taught us when we were children. I don't think Filfred is the one we should be blaming right now. This is a thread about a man, nay a legend, clearing Malar temple at level 9, and if your response isn't related to that then maybe think twice before you hit "Submit".

clearing high content at low levels is unironically for the cool kids, props

did talassans when our group was level 5-7, tho we wussed out of the stormlord, i'm not sure that would have physically been feasible just due to the wrong numbers, but hey we cleared out everything else, i take the W there

The rest of the angst this post generates likely comes from the fact that the existing writ is already generally acknowledged to be too hard for most characters trying to 'normally' process this dungeon. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=21875 For the love of Pete, lets not make 20k gold expenditures in highend consumables the norm. People will see this kind of post as a threat in that it might convince the staff that this dungeon is, in fact, not hard enough...as some here have humorously illustrated.
