Moving ship base

Is it possible to move the home port of a ship? As a ship is not a fixed structure like a house and in theory able to sail anywhere can a request be made to move the ship base? Say Cordor to Brog. This could open up a new path of RP in having the Town/City losing control and having to make deals for its return etc.

Cities already have too little control over their ships, why should the developers be burdened with moving a sign according to a player's will?

Ship locations are not persistent. This is doable but has been kept out for a number of reasons.

To move a home port for a ship we can do on our end no problem. It involves moving the sign and a few other stuff like the Skiff and setup some variables. We've actually done that a number of times to ships already as they have been moved around during the years.

Requests by players though for this to happen is unlikely and I'd leave that to Irongron for him to decide.
