Adamantine/mithril

Post by ForgottenBhaal » Wed Feb 07, 2018 8:08 pm

Could the Mithril occurance be lowered, and or Adamantine heightened? Cause it feels like everytime I go to a high level area, I either find MIthril. Or Zinc. It never strikes wrong.

Some epic dungeons spawn adamantine pretty reliably, or might even have static adamantine.

Without saying specifics, are these underdark dungeons that your finding it in? I know in that last few months going to 4 different surface high lvl dungeons, several times each, has only given mightily.

These places are usually more dangerous than commonly visited epic dungeons.

I was quite 'amused' to find the White dragon of the Aurilites guarding an empty armour chest and a nice node of Zinc.

It made the triple mages that almost party wiped with 6 horrid wiltings so much more worth it :D

Lucky! I got a smashed chest and zinc.

A truly legendary horde.

Bow down, mortals, for I have slain a dragon and taken a vast hoard of lead from her clutches.
Surely these riches will see me befit of the life of a king.

No, not really. I think last time I went to Ichyss we found silver.

Not soloing Icthyss and his frostybois in the early epics.

How pedestrian.

Aurilite temple can manage any character with EDK. Regardless of level, if it got dragon

But yeah those mages are pain :P

I didn't read all the thread, but responding to the OP:

In my experience, I find WAY more Adamantine the Mithril. I guess that just shows that the system is random, and will be different for everyone in experience.

Keep in mind that once you find an ore, it will be the same for a long time (multiple days), so if you're trying to get Adamantine, just course through end-game dungeons until you find one. Once you find one, you know the Adamantine will remain there for multiple days (unless you find it late), and you can return at a later time to get more.

You mean take the day off work and farm it for 12 RL hours since you never know when you'll see it again.

Would be cool if some metal/ore spawns had a 'floor' they couldn't go below. So you don't have abby guarding LEAD.

They do though. Ore Veins come in different tiers, the highest one for instance found in end-game dungeons can't spawn as lesser ore only as Arjale, Adamantine (Mostly this) and Mithrill.

So why all the endgame zinc?

Because those veins are tagged as Noble, which can tier down into zinc and lead.

A Rich vein can still tier down into Iron, though, instead of spawning arjale/adamant/mithril.

Its more a matter of resource placement. If some areas are considered end-game content and spawning Noble tier in the boss room that should be looked into.

Tiering down in my experience happens way way way more than even normal tiering or the legendary up-tier but i am also notoriously unlucky in RNG, so.
