Correct me if I'm wrong, please.
Chances to dispel a ward cast by a 27/3 caster (CL 27 - Dispel check DC 39).
For a:
Non-abjurer caster casting a greater dispel (CL 22): 20%
GSF abjurer caster casting a greater dispel (CL 24): 30%
ESF abjurer caster casting a greater dispel (CL 26): 40%
Any of the above using a Mord scroll (CL 17?): 0% (Apart from the breach effect)
Chances to dispel a ward cast by a "mundane" character or a pure caster (CL 30 in both cases - Dispel check DC 42)
For a:
Non-abjurer caster casting a greater dispel (CL 22): 5%
GSF abjurer caster casting a greater dispel (CL 24): 15%
ESF abjurer caster casting a greater dispel (CL 26): 25%
Any of the above using a Mord scroll (CL 17?): 0% (Apart from the breach effect).

Re: Dispel magic
Probably worth taking into consideration that any mage worth their salt will have Arcane Defense: Abjuration. So subtract 10% from pretty much every column, unless you're fighting someone who's very feat starved for whatever reason.

Re: Dispel magic
Yes, I'm not taking into consideration Arcane Defense feats.
The question I'd like to pose is: what's more interesting for a caster class (apart from Wiz/Sorc), to cast a Mord scroll through UMD or a Greater Dispel from their speelbook?
I know that both spells work in a different way (to start with, some spells are not breachable), but assuming you have to choose one of them to cast in a fight, what would you prefer?
Mord Scroll: no dispel but 6 wards breached and -10 SR.
ESF Abjurer casting a Greater Dispelling: no spells breached, but 40% to dispel a ward of a 27/3 build and 25% of CL 30 build.
The other quesion that comes to my mind is that, if you're a caster druid/cleric/bard, is it worth it to invest three feats in Abjuration, taking into account that a simple Mord scroll is a viable (or even better) alternative in most cases?

Re: Dispel magic
Druids are better off using Nature's Balance to breach, and clerics have more important feats to take than ESF: Abjur. Sadly, Bards can only get GSF: Abjur for a CL of 24.
Re: Dispel magic
I'm pretty sure the abjuration focuses bonus applies to Mord scroll just like transmutation bonus to zoo buffs applies to scrolls. Can anyone confirm?

Re: Dispel magic
They appy, yes, but in the best case scenario (ESF Abjuration), it'll be a 21 + 1d20 vs 12+Caster level, so you would need a 18 (15%) to dispel a 27/3 caster and it would be impossible to dispel a pure caster or a CL 30 mundane.
