Duration of spells

Post by Joheshua » Fri Sep 28, 2018 8:36 pm

Just wondering if I am correct but if I look at a spells duration and it says 1 turn/ level does that mean at level 30 it will last 180 seconds?

There's three units of time spells use in their descriptions: Rounds, turns, and hours. A round is 6 seconds, a turn is 10 rounds/1 minute, and an hour is an ingame hour, or 6 minutes. So something that lasts turns/level would, at caster level 30, last 30 minutes.
Rolled: Helene d'Arque, Sara Lyonall
Shelved: Kels Vetian, Cin ys'Andalis, Saul Haidt
Playing: Oshe Jordain

Ok yeah thats what I was thinking, so aura of vitality is 1 round per level so it would last 180 seconds at 30.

Thanks man.

And it's 3 rounds/level with Greater Transmutation Focus or 1 Turn/Level with Epic Transmutation Focus if you didn't know.

Does it stack with animal buff spells?

One more question about Duration, does Epic Spell Focus: Transmutation extend the length of transmutation spells, and if so would it stack with Extend spell?

Transmutation foci have no effect on the duration of spells (except Aura of Vitality, which Regionals mentioned). Extend'll just do its thing.

Oh, Aura of Vitality is special for some reason?

Yeah, a few spells get some damage/duration buffs, courtesy of transmutation foci. Aura of Vitality's the only one that gets a duration increase, mind (3 rounds/level with Greater Transmutation Focus. With Epic Transmutation, duration increases to turns/level).

The Spell Changes page on the wiki'll help out. Just search for 'Transmutation,' and it'll point you in the direction of changes.
