Max writ ceiling...

Post by Vrass » Thu Sep 13, 2018 5:34 pm

So i been wondering and getting wildly different numbers for how high writs go until they cease working. Some have said 15 but as ive gone beyond 15 and am still getting that's confirmed false. Others have said it stops at 22, and a few others say it goes all the way up to 30. I would like a single definitive number please lol. :?

I would too.

I think maybe some writs might let you complete them after you are oast intendes lvl range if you already grabbed it. If there are writs up to lvl 30, I woukd like to know where lol (maybe its pirate ones). I know Sibayad can let you barely break above 20. I don't know if it lets you grab new ones past 20 though.

Highest level writ a PC can obtain is lvl20, lvl21 and higher (epic level) usually stop receiving writs. But that doesn't stop you from taking writs right before reaching lvl21, since you can still complete them for as long as you do so before reaching lvl23.

Any writ with max level 20 can still be completed or aided by anyone up to lvl22, lvl23 or higher PCs in the group will stop the progress.

Or do what I do: turn -adventure mode on since day 1 and make sure to bank 150,000 adventure xp by lvl21 and never have to grind again!

All that's left is to play out either 300 or 700 ish hours depending on your RPR  Sit in town and RP all day!

Imagine that when until a few months ago we didn't have writs.

Imagine loosing 15,000 xp per death. Or not being refunding wand XP!

On a serious note; getting epic levels without writ xp isn't too hard. By then, your character -should- be at least starting to hit the builds full potential (if you're building around a single late-end-game epic feat, you're gonna have a bad time no matter what) and so should all of the other people you've been traveling/leveling with!

Also; no one wants to see people hitting level 30 overnight. As of now, leveilng into epics is a remarkably fast process, compared to several years ago when it could take half a year or a full year of hardcore grinding.

^ Some of them still do. Just try making a dismissal wand. I dare you. Cure serious wounds too has a surprisingly high cost as well

Id log on with my terrible subpar build, get caught up in a group going in a dungeon, die near boss, lose all the exp i gained that week. Rinse and repeat.

It took me 3 months to get my first character to level 8. (Admittedly, it was an awful build and I wasn't spending any time leveling, but still.) My most recent hit level 8 in 3 days.

writs have made life incredibly easy up to 20 (which i do enjoy)
playing roughly an hour per day, you can hit Level 20 in about 3 weeks just by doing writs each day.
Pretty cruisy if you ask me!

My build is not exactly optimal... i am doing a 15 wizard/15 cleric. Wont realize full potential until exactly lv 30 at least in terms of spells and feats.

You don't get 9th level spells from either class, or epic spells, or any bonus feats at all. You have two incomplete spell-lists, each missing the 'good' stuff, at a very low caster level so you will be dispelled by everything, your spells last almost no time at all, and you are tri-attribute. No disc, no tumble, no UMD but I guess you don't need that.

All this for 0 gain what so ever; you can RP a divine connection on a wizard, many do already, and they don't have non-functional characters.

Actually it is very functional so far... i can solo most areas easy as long as i take it slow and am careful. Its been most enjoyable.

Ease up a little, BT.

Vrass, that really is an awful build from a mechanics standpoint. If you ever find yourself getting frustrated with it, you know where to come for advice!

Before harm was nerfed i wanted to do a 18 sorceror/12 cleric and timestop harm people. (What is cooler than being to both stop time and raise the dead back to life?) Obvously i never saw it through.
