Most trackless step races read as "Does not leave tracks if wearing cloth or light armor".

However, Forest Gnomes have "Does not leave tracks".

Do Forest Gnomes really not leave tracks in heavy armor? Or is this just a mistype?

Forest gnomes do not leave tracks at all, regardless of what armor type they are wearing.
