He is just an incredibly strong fighter with a greatsword.
Most likely not even a barbarian.

So, any high str high con melee build would do.

Why no barbarian love? Thundering rage would be great for guts! (Extra attack with two handers is always fun)

Honestly I would prefer a barbarian/weaponmaster but that gives up epic weapon specialization (although your rage also gives you bonus damage)

Because Guts in berserk doesn't really use barbarian rage in battle. He also doesn't really shrug off attacks and gets wounded all the time and then takes a long time to recover.

He's "smart fighter" type. You'd have str20 Fighter 30 or Fighter/WM, maybe with something like Iron Will for higher will saves. Because he has higher will saves. However, there's no class in nwn that let's fight on will saves.

He's also completely non-magical, so no UMD for you.

I think WM that specializes in greatsword and longsword (one of those has to be picked via an epic feat "weapon of choice") would be the best fit. While you're at it, you could give him rapid shot and rapid reload, because guts used crossbows.

A great choice for him would be frenzied berserker, but vanilla nwn doesn't have this class.

Of course he does. He even has 'Berserker Armor', for god's sake! Basically, his entire fighting style post-Golden Age is rage driven. I'd say barb flavor fits Guts as well as Fighter does, if not more so.

I guess your starting stats could help answer that question, but i think a higher threat range and extra multiplier for your great sword is more valuable than plus 6 damage (hands down an extra attack with a two hander is also more important than EWS.

I think 20/7/3 fighter wm rogue/bard con based with edr 3 works well for Guts build. Use a fireball wand for hand cannon and you should be able to fit in rapid reload on crossbow.

Alternatively you can mess around with 16wm 11 fight 3rogue/bard though I can't remember if this can work with EDR.

Might also want to try to take points in ride ...?

Why use a fireball wand when we've got gonnes? They're actual hand cannons!

Ah, theme wise is why I say fireball rather than gonne. A gonne takes a little too long for my liking to blast the heads off demons, and looking immediately swag with your wand hand gonne is far more important than doing actual damage.

Rename fireball wand into - hand cannon.

Also rename manticore spikes into throwing daggers.

I'm thinking a pre-eclipse guts.

I was thinking he would have a few rogue levels to add the rogue lockpick and umd for the fire ball wand if I progress him to the point I want to make him post eclipse.

Would rogue fighter weapons master work?

Fighter20/7wm/3rogue is perhaps the most constant build layout since the server was created. One handed weapons are more powerful than two-hands, but two-hand is ok. Just not as good as rapier or scimitar.
