Conceptual Rogue

Not necessarily interested in getting a full build, but if I were to roll a human Rogue (conceptually pure rogue - stealth, sneak attack, non-caster, dex-based, short swords/daggers, looking towards Epic Dodge), likely to move substantially into Assassin, Shadowdancer, or both, are there any feats, non-obvious skills, or other factors to make sure I don’t screw up on? Also, any way to make it viable without taking feats (or Ranger levels) to dual-wield?

You also could play a dex weaponmaster: 13 rogue, 10 fighter 7 WM. I can find a build if you want.

I'd take blind fight earlier and maybe take toughness or something over IKD, but yeah, basically this.

13/10/7 is a fantastic build and I strongly recommend it. Make sure you take the class levels at the levels in the build as in this setup the order you take your stuff matters a lot.

It's also the only real Rogue build I would play if that matters to you.

no, you're right. IKD is better =)
30 HP vs. +4 Knockdown vs. Discipline check.

The build has 518 HP and a lower AB in comparison to the usual weapon masters, having a simulated +4 AB on Knockdown actually helps compared to the general weapon master builds.

If you're expecting to run into things you're able to knock down who you have trouble KDing off of 44-45 ab but don't need a true strike potion to KD, sure. I had zero issue with a similar AB number KDing things in PvE on Hyskos, and I'd put good money most folks in PvP fall into either "Need a True Strike" or "-1 disc". It's mostly a matter of taste, however, and isn't going to make a huge difference unless you just desperately need to KD giants.
