Dwarf Spellsword
Here is a build for an item creating Dwarven Spellsword I sketched out as an alternative to my Bard without concentration. I’d love any thoughts as this is all theory crafting.
Also, how long does an imbue last?
17 Spellsword
18-20 Bard
21-28 Spellsword
29 Bard
30 Spellsword
Dwarven Rune Axe (+1 Str)
Greensteel Chain Shirt
+4 Str / +2 Dex / +5 Con / +5 Int
Str 17-19 (+5) [36] (4/20/24/28)
Dex 9 [18]

Int 16 (+4) [32] (8/12/16)
Wis 8

10 + 5 + 6 + 13 + 4 + 3 + 1 = 42
Weapon Damage (18-20/x3)

Re: Dwarf Spellsword
I'm not seeing auto still spell in there anywhere, so you'll still have some arcane spell failure from the greensteel chain shirt, may as well upgrade to addy fullplate if you're not keen on grabbing those feats.

Re: Dwarf Spellsword
Spellswords get native anti-spell failure. Should stack with greensteel's?
Clerics are just socially acceptable warlocks. The devil does not need any more advocates
Re: Dwarf Spellsword
It does.

Re: Dwarf Spellsword
I thought about taking Auto-Still Spell but it didn’t seem worth it.
Essentially:
1. Will this build be good at PVE (and scale well)?
2. How long do my Imbues last?

Re: Dwarf Spellsword
Imbues last until you rest, as I recall, though they have a habit of becoming permanent. They won't disappear on you in the middle of a fight, anyhow.
Personally I would drop some of the metamagic and crafting feats for ESF Discipline and some spell foci. GSF Abjuration and GSF Transmutation are both really useful.

Re: Dwarf Spellsword
As someone that's leveling a spellsword atm, I can say that you do definitely want some spell foci. Transmute is a must for maximizing your damage.
Speaking of, your damage will be very respectable (but your AB will be on the lowish side).
Using a dwarven waraxe gives you the -twohand option, so you get 1.5x the strength modifier on your damage. You also have an intelligence modifier to your damage, which is why I recommend having 20 base int, so that 32 gives you +11 int mod damage.
So between your 1.5 str mod, int mod, and double imbues, your damage will be nice. Personally, I take fighter as well to get weapon spec and epic weapon spec for even more damage and AB. It also gives you the option of wearing heavy armor if you just want to go full AC mode with no casting. It's possible to reach 70 if a cleric is buffing you, and 75 if you have a bard as well.

Intelligence is too important
Re: Dwarf Spellsword
Unless you're intent on generating potions and wands I'd consider enchantment and GSF enchantment. Especially if you're going the Dwarven Runemaster route. It'll also help you dominate people/monsters which is pretty useful for someone who can't summon.

Re: Dwarf Spellsword
Thanks all.
I’m quite into crafting (will be making Bardic instruments too eventually) and toyed for a long time with having ESF Enchantment. If I did it I would lose Improved Critical / Epic Prowess / Maximise Spell I think. Though arguably Extend Spell should go instead of Maximise.
I’ll continue to think about it.
