One pre epic feat to choose but which one. ????
Have one final pre-epic feat to choose for a tanky full BAB class and looking for some advice. Choice is between:-
A. Toughness: Extra 30HP always good but if I'm cutting it that close I'm probably doing things wrong?
B. Resistance to Energy:- Does this stack with protective essences? If yes would guess Acid or Fire would be most useful.
C. Called shot:
D. Any other less popular feat?
Expert opinions (and others) welcome below.

Knowing what feats you have is a good start. Wouldn't take called shot on a non-archer though, myself.

All core feats taken including KD, IKD, Cleave and Whirlwind Attack (and all their pre-requisites. This is a bonus feat left over which I am trying to spend wisely.

A. 30 HP can mean the difference from dying to living in a fight. Resistance to energy does not stack with essences.

Toughness and Iron Will are likely the best options as both of them will actually safe your life sometimes.

I assume WM? You won't get 100% accurate advise without sharing class x/x/x, and current list of pre-epic feats.
Usually toughness, depends on your total hps at lvl 30.
+2 fort depends on if spellcraft taken/kensai. If no spellcraft +2 fort overide toughness, for example. Imho.
I would consider also imp.expertise.

Epic Energy Resistance / Resist Energy do stack with resistances on items (Like essences would give)
So a 5/- acid essence and Epic Energy Resistance feat would give you 15/- Acid resistance.
The Epic feat doesn't stack with the pre-epic feat however. (So EER + RE doesn't give 15/- resistance)
That said, toughness is definitely the way to go here out of the options given and with no other info! (Although, if you don't have Expertise / Improved Expertise, go for that.)

Thankfully this team is no longer being used.

Looks like toughness is the way to go. Expertise and Improved Expertise were much earlier life saving buys and both seem essential to pretty much any front line meleeer. Thanks all.

You should never think this. If you can save your life more times by getting that little bit more HP, do it. Even on my WM, having that extra 30 HP has saved me a number of times both in PvE and PvP.Lost in the dark wrote: A. Toughness is 100% the way to go.
