Make this good?

Post by caldura firebourne » Wed Nov 29, 2017 11:10 am

can't remake this character but I want to play it, can it be salvaged or is it too far gone

Wood Elf
Sorcerer 3

Str 8
Dex 10
Con 16
Int 14
Wis 8
Cha 20

feats taken SF and GSF Enchantment

also weavemaster which is why I can't remake

I'm planning on taking ESF Enchantment and epic foci in Abjuration and Conjuration as well, on a pure sorcerer

If you can consider squeezing in SF: Transmutation line of feats somewhere you'll get even more mileage out of your infinite zoo buffs for your party.

you should consider 3 bard lvls for discipline skill at lvl 27-29. and epic skill focus discipline.

1: Spell Focus: Enchantment
3: Greater Spell Focus: Enchantment
6: Sf: Conjuration
9: GSf: Conjuration or quicken
12: GSf: Conjuration or quicken
15: SF Abjuration
18: GSF Abjuration
21: Epic Spell Focus: Conjuration
23: Epic Spell Focus: Enchantment
24: EDK
26: Epic Spell Focus: Abjuration
27: Auto-Quicken 1
29: AQ2
30r: AQ3

Skills: Heal, spellcraft, concentration, lore or craft skills for more crafting points. You have enough skill points to fill four skills.

Edit: You can take 9 lore I think at 14 int and identify pretty much anything that matters. If not, you have this thing called legend lore and unlimited casts. Doing the math, that means you're universally fluent with legend lore at level 30 with only 16 lore.

Couldn't I also drop ESF conjuration for epic mage armor?
Also the legend lore idea is a good one, will allow me to take craft weapon or armor for more skill points cause I'll probably be burning through components

You could, but why?

Abjuration isn't even necessary beyond GSF, and -yoink is powerful. However, I assumed you were going full utility wizard with the idea that you're just not winning fights most of the time. Conjuration also buffs your EDK, and EDK is a top tier PvP spell that literally auto-wins fights for you. In a lot of cases, people are just bad. Otherwise, if they're good and they deal with your EDK, being a hell of a distraction itself, I think you'll have escaped by then.

Thanks to the magic of Greater Sanctuary (And I think Time Stop) functioning off of a universal cooldown that is independent from your weave master cooldown-and the same for EDK to everything else, and the magic of extended mass haste following your gsanc means you're now in your safe space, you go fest, and your party is hasted. Following that with an EDK to support your party is probably going to win most encounters without much skill involved. Literally.

So if you want EMA, I suggest dropping ESF Abjuration.

plus evards is the greatest spell ever

until they have 26 strength or a tiny character model

Going from 10AC to 30AC really doesn't do much for you.

It does, on the other hand, have a really nice VFX.

Yeah, not super great on a character with premo/II/acid sheathe anyway. Better on spellswords and PMs, of course, because they worry about AC. But as a normal mage that's not AC-focused (divine shield+greensteel sorc, I guess?) you're better off spending your epic feats elsewhere and just not getting into a situation where you're getting hit. Or at least, not one where you're getting hit unmitigated.

Xerah's right. There is no functional difference between 10 AC and 30 AC at higher levels. EMA is only worth it if you are building for AC, like a spellsword or with old Greensteel gear.
Current character: Abigail Duskwood
