SD Shadow Evade

Can we have the Shadow Evade from SD scale in duration to their level?
I just think that someone who is so attuned to the shadow plane that they can call a shadow forth should have a protection that at least comes close to rivaling a mage's spell who doesn't have any connection to the shadow plane (IE no PrC).
Five rounds at lvl one then scaling from there, IMO.
