Revert Skal level changes.

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:
- implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
- the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
- the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to tweak X class.

Revert Skal level changes.

Post by Fantasy Father » Sun Oct 15, 2023 4:10 pm

Skal has become a barrel of fish to kill at will and rule over for powergamers that use lvl 19 topped out pvp builds to harass others. There are even pages and builds with recommended builds, including the overpowered shapechange dragon form with perma true sight. Even abusing the fact that you can use 1 level dips at the end without having to go 3 deep. I know plenty have been reported to DM's for this behaviour. This is not promoting fairplay or roleplay.

Change back so that levelling is normal on the isle and that anyone over 19 automatically gets MOD if they stay instead. If you want to powergame in a newbie area you should be prepared to lose your toon.

After internal discussion and review this has been denied.
The grounds for such are as follows:

  • There are not enough reports to demonstrate this is an issue as described.
  • The situation has markedly improved since the level limit was introduced.
  • The MoD system was what we had prior and it did not stop these problems.
  • The usage of 1 level dips over the 19 level range (18/1) is not against the rules nor has it been shown to be as widespread or as problematic as advertised.

As always please report issues you feel are in breach of server rules of conduct or even just for record/investigatory purposes.
