Allow a fighter to fight opponents he's beaten once every IG month, maybe halve betting/prize too.

Or apply a bonus to the cage monsters AB/AC/HP every time there's a rematch! Attach that detail to the chain link item, and let the bonuses be infinite, +3 every time!

I just want to chime in and say, that speaking as someone that's been trying to make events from the cage, this would be absolutely lovely. Even if there were no profits at all.

What fun is only being able to participate in the cage when it is only a select few who are bound to destroy you or delete your character?

For spectacle, mostly. My current character has made a game of "running the gauntlet" (i.e. fighting the first nine creatures in the cage). Unfortunately, the fact that many have participated in the cage already really limits the degree of participation for people in these events -- as many have fought every creature they can actually fight already.
Thus alas, no spectacle.
I mean, it's not a huge deal, and I understand it's rather niche (especially if there's no reward at all). But I, personally, could make more roleplay from it.
