Add powerful items to each trade.
Example boots with +4 AC dodge with skills and other perks on it. Or go by way of making boots with 5 runic properties.
But put them at DC 50 for crafting and start from 5 000 + successes to finish it. Each craft would have to dedicate for these items (almost all points into trade) and spend over month IRL time to produce one of such. These items would be pinnacles of their life work, items to proud of.
The very high ammount of successes neccesary to produce them would prevent them being common items.
