Currently epic illusion is balanced for RP, which in itself is a silly statement.
The grand master illusion project_self offers little even by way of RP, since you can't control it like a familiar due to that game breaking bug. It is forced to stay near you, in range of the player tool, and you can talk through it, so it cannot be used to even spy on anyone as you have to be in the same room.
In combat it attacks with whatever your character has, which is usually a staff for a glorious 15 ab attack maxing at about 6 damage. I suggest making this illusion cast its own illusion spells at your DC.
Allow it 1 weird, phantasmal killer on cooldown, and perhaps some color sprays or shadow conjurations for damage.
