Aging:Possible Gift? Possible Console Command?

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:
- implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
- the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
- the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to tweak X class.

Aging:Possible Gift? Possible Console Command?

Post by RedGiant » Mon Nov 03, 2014 1:21 am

I propose an aging mechanic. It could be implemented as a gift or a console command.

This is based partially off of DnD PnP. If we go the gift route, I propose the following.

1.At middle age, -1 to Str, Dex, and Con; +1 to Int, Wis, and Cha. (ECL +.5)
2.At old age, -2 to Str, Dex, and Con; +2 to Int, Wis, and Cha. (ECL +1)
3.At venerable age, -3 to Str, Dex, and Con; +3 to Int, Wis, and Cha. (ECL+2)

If we go the route of console command (which I actually like a lot better), I would recommend the following. Hair color changes obviously only to non-UD races. (As most UD races already have either white hair or no hair.)

1.At middle age, -1 to Str, Dex, and Con; +1 to Int, Wis, and Cha, hair color to 15 (Grey)
(Option disappears for PC after selected)
2.At old age, -2 to Str, Dex, and Con; +2 to Int, Wis, and Cha, (ECL +1), hair color to 44 (Silver)
(Option disappears for PC after selected)
3.At venerable age, -3 to Str, Dex, and Con; +3 to Int, Wis, and Cha, hair color to 62 (White), addition of MoD to character if not already already present.
(Option disappears for PC after selected)

Obviously the bonuses are not cumulative. I propose only an additional +1 at every age category. I suppose one could get fancy with coding, and actually tie it to the date/calendar and have it all happen automatically. But actually, I think having this under player control would be much more enjoyable for all concerned. In addition, if you wanted to start off playing a Gandalf type, in the second case you could.
