It's not meant for teleporting your summon
- next to a boss from invisibility
- on top of opponents in PvP from hiding
- over traps
- past obstacles it's too big to go through
- to bypass a summon's slow movement speed.
These are just a few examples of the ways the command has been frequently misused.

Teleports NPC companions to the PC. For debugging purposes only.
Use: -fetch
NPC companions entails such things as familiars, summons and henchmen, dominated creatures, and EDK.
Quite useful when a summon gets stuck and fails to follow the PC.
