Petals upon the water do not sink, and that is me in your embrace. I yearn and float as I linger, as it rains and I watch the fire of a thousand candles, your glow -- Every step I make is hesitant, but slowly, I am drawn in. Quickly I feel the warmth and without warning I am blooming. I do not desire to burn up and wither, what I want is to please you, as you look upon me, I can only wonder what you see...
Is it the falling snow, like that which freezes the water in the wake of winter -- or is it the fire we share in the darkness? Is it the mark of a blade that lingers in everything you do, or is it with subtle certainty, the embrace of the night that burns?
I feel the fire that strikes at me suddenly. Like pain without pain, I realize. Without you I could be lost to the wind among a thousand other ponds.
