A last deception, lost.

Post by Airport Proximity Jesus » Sat Dec 15, 2018 2:03 am

As the glow and bustle of Andunor vanished behind her, knowing that none were going to follow her, Gnaela at last straightened her back- throwing herself side to side, popping her spine in multiple places. The one deception she allowed herself, so as not to appear as repugnant as she feared she might before her Lady. She had stumbled often, though so too had she managed to keep some air of... presence. Worth. There had been times where she was relied upon by others to get a job done, and that pleased her. A wave of her boney hand, and a vanguard of dead rose at her command- fighting her battles for her so she could think and muse to the relaxing din of conflict through the shadow. It pleased the blackened, artificially beating heart in her chest to know she had achieved and then stripped away such a value from her surroundings. That she was, in some ways, needed. That people desired to defeat her, to destroy her for her 'sins'. And that now, all the potential futures she had seeded for herself, all the work she had built and the power and knowledge she contained were vanishing into nothing.

All the 'heroes' and the victories they might squeeze from her battered, broken body were never to come. Perhaps they would ruminate on the meaninglessness of their passions and come to understand the false nature of the world. Learn what she had tried to teach them. Or perhaps they would continue on like they always have- sustaining a world whose future is inevitable... if incalculably distant. She had done her part in increasing entropy, in spending the limited number of actions, in seeding conflict or assisting it's growth where she could. She'd even taken the acts of her unnamed fellows upon herself, seeing that her well known name would shadow theirs, allowing them to continue in Her works another day.

What mattered to her was that she had become one of the eaters in a world that was going to be eaten. That she had failed in a... strict adherence to the teachings of The Dark Goddess was unfortunate. But she would allow her Lady to take her as she saw fit now, and for better or worse, embrace the inevitable with open arms.

Now, on the border of the mapped regions of the shadow plane, carrying with her knowledge, value, and potential value, she would vanish into the blissful reflection of a world that could have been perfect. That one night, would be perfect again. Walking with her servants at her side, venturing forwards to learn what the rest of the shadow had to teach her... and to keep it as information lost, to vanish into night. To become what her Lady required her to be.. she felt no fear. She felt no joy. No anger or sorrow or longing or sentimentality.

Oh, what blissful emptiness.
8-) Cool kids wear shades during the endless night 8-)
