Lynn Charfoot: Travel To Baldur

Post by FrozenSolid » Sat Apr 08, 2017 3:09 am

Lynn's shoulder length black hair was untied in a comfortable casual fashion. Perfectly masking her more distinct facial features and flowing effortlessly into the sleek black and dark green outfit she wore. She was approaching the gates of Cordor, and as she did her posture changed. Lynn's head lowered faintly, her pace was less direct and confident, taking a more whimsical sway. Her boots made her appear taller and the black cloak she wore served to distort her body. Sharp eyes may think she looked familiar. But there were too many subtle oddities to confirm suspicions.

Lynn had fooled the guards before, with a multitude of disguises and postures that she would practice routinely. She waved casually to the guards, carful to avoid eye contact as the brilliant blue orbs shone brightly against the black clothing and tanned skin. The guards waved back, one winked at her, she winked back and continued on.

As Lynn approached the dock she spotted the ship The Sea Slicer, that was to take her away from Arelith. Lynn recalled meeting the captain in Wharftown and had befriended the man after exchanging some brief naval jargon about ship rigging and sails. Lynn's limited time in Cordor's navy had paid off.

The captain spotted Lynn approaching, a toothy smile spread on his lips as he called for his crew to hurry. This girl was trouble. And she had a dangerously devious smile on her lips as she came onto the docks and was stopped by two guardsmen. He watched the girl, feeling the slightest hint of admiration...

The guards peered at Lynn. Lynn smiled back "Don't we know this one? She looks pretty familiar" one of the guards said jabbing a finger at Lynn. " 'Ey yeah, she does look kinda familiar? Maybe we ought to search her." the other guard replied with a toothy smirk. Lynn rolled her eyes "Yeah, you probably do recognize me" She said, and smiled as her posture took on its more confident and regular pose. She scooped her hair back into a ponytail, holding it in place with her hand. "Lynn Charfoot, Knight and considerably talented rogue!" The guards gasped "Ey'! You're exiled!"

"Well duh" Lynn replied, flashed a white toothed grin, then barreled in between the two guards and bee lined for "The Sea Slicer" The ship had already untied from the docks and was setting sail. The dumbfounded guards stared "Think we should write a report?" One of them asked. "Nah" the other replied "I didn't see anyone or anything" the guards shook their head then went back to their posts lazily lounging in the early morning sun.

Safely at sea, Lynn assisted the captain in navigating to a small island not far from the Arelith coast. She had a few matters to tie up, and a few friends to wish good tidings before she left for good.

Lynn sighed to herself as she stood on the deck of the Sea Slicer, she had done all she could and finished all goodbyes. She smiled to herself, recalling the stack of papers she handed off to Lina before she departed. "Lynn Charfoot may not be on Arelith, but her ideals still are" she thought to herself rapping her fingers on the worn wooden railing of the vessel as she watched the island grow distant on the horizon.

" This isn't over" she said quietly to herself. Then turned, passing by the busy crew as she went below deck to rest and gather her thoughts.

To Forge, defined by the scholars of Faerun is to make, or shape, a metal object by heating it with a fire or furnace then beating or hammering it.

If Arelith were a blade, then Lynn Charfoot was the fire. And she hoped, those she inspired, would be the hammer that would shape it.
