Kudos From Devon Blake

Post by Airhog91 » Sun Jul 15, 2018 9:36 pm

Well done to all those involved in the debate in Cordor. Pointing out that as there is no law how can anyone be exiled as no law means no crimes. Threatening Exile for speaking publicly in a public place shows how corrupt the New Order are. Threating to seize property and exile with no charge or trial. NO Laws mean no crime. No crime no arrest no arrest no trial no trial no exile. Well played people. Cookies and Ice cream all round

IC conflict is great, but I genuinely feel like there are too many OOC hurt feelings following this election, and that these are inspiring a lot of the "debates" going on IC around the public board; this leads me to feel like I'm arguing with the players behind the characters rather than the characters themselves.

I am consciously removing Wylaana from politics, because the OOC spitefulness has gotten WAY out of hand. It feels forced and personal, and it's utterly transparent that the majority of it is inspired by players rather than the characters they play.

That's all I have to say.

I unironically want you to tell us how you actually feel

But I also want you to consider if that belongs in a kudos thread
Currently plays Peregrine Gwil and Rick Snyder.

Formerly played Mel Aran, Antoine Moreau, and Zanril.

quite bluntly we can't balance the server around people who don't play well

We're done here.

The OOC needs to stop, from both sides. We understand you feel frusterated when your plans do not pan out as you intend, but you must understand that you cannot take your frusteration out on players OOC. The Kudos form is for positive feedback and accolades, not to bemoan current events. I encourage those upset to take time to breathe and make up In Character plans to respond and push the story forward.

And to those who find sucess in their plots I a ask you win gracefully; show respect and good manners to your fellow players whether you win or lose your story conflicts. Coming out on top is not an excuse to be rude and condescending to your fellow players.

Anymore passive aggressive kudos will result in a private lecture and lock.

To add a thought or two -

1) I want to assure people that the DM team are keenly watching things develop to ensure that Both Sides are playing fair and by the rules. I can assure you that, from what we saw, the election win was a clean one with no OOC rules or abuses occurring on the part of the current chancellor.
2) As Chilliad said – IC is IC, OOC is OOC. Sometimes things will not go the way you like. Yes, we try to make sure that people have fun, but we also try and keep things fair. In the end, often what you look for is what you get. If you go into a situation thinking, 'If I am not successful, then I shall be utterly, incontrovertibly and entirely miserable' then you'll likely wind yourself up and find you get just that. If you go into a situation thinking, 'Well, maybe I've was not successful but maybe I can make this fun! Maybe I can make this interesting!' Then you're more likely to find just that.
This too shall pass.

(I now have a DM Discord (I hope) It's DM GrumpyCat#7185 but please keep in mind I'm very busy IRL so I can't promise how quick I'll get back to you.)
