To the Lag-Busters
I wanted to make this thread before anyone tried to wrongly thank me for recent efforts to address the major lag issues on the server, which for many had made playing on C&P near impossible.
Right now it looks very much like this may have been fixed.
Our development team had been pouring over code, staff were checking no end of performance graphs, DMs were correlating lists of potential player-based causes, and the technicians at our server provider running various tests.
Needless to say this wasn't an easy task.
But above and beyond any other, the two people to thank are Little Weasel and Mithreas, who together coordinated efforts to isolate the various clues, and ultimately (hopefully) fix this issue.
It is not the first time I've had to pick up the red phone and call in Mithreas, who despite largely retiring from Arelith some years ago maintains a (frankly inspiring) dedication to providing the support and expertise that comes from so many year of experience in keeping this place running.
Those of us that have been here for many years know full well that Arelith wouldn't still be here without him, and tonight, once again, he has shown just how important he is what we've all built here.

You're welcome, as always. I don't have time to run the show any more, but I'm always happy to help out when things are going boom.

Wonderful work. The love and commitment this server is shown outshines that of many games published by major companies. Thank you for resolving this.

I don't know how you all do it. Thank you.

So we're very much on track.

I don't have time to play anymore, but I ALWAYS read the updates and what I've seen today is really heartwarming.
Thanks to all involved that spent countless hours of their free time to take on such a mammoth task. Just seeing something like that, warms my heart. There is real love for the community of Arelith.

I don't understand.
Are you saying we weren't supposed to wait 30 seconds on the transitions?

Who you gonna call?
Lagbusters!
If there's something weird
And it don't look good
Who you gonna call?
Lagbusters!"
Lag is gone! I'm free to run the Nomad! Free to do scum and villainy in the Andunor! Thank you for the hard work!
