-Ode to Storm Chickens-Rattus_norvegicus99 wrote:My chickens were no worse for the wear, after weathering the storm.
There came the fury of storm
Tearing trees and drowning men
Cowered the cows in their barn
Cried the friar in his prayer
Children wept; Women swept
Men in cars remained there trapped
Through the night of gale force winds
Mighty clucks of defiance rang
Staring cock-eyed at storm's eye
With feathers to weather the nature's worst
Puffing up their chicken breasts
Hens of storm did ride the wind
Like the valkiries o'Nordic lore
Storm Chickens did truly soar!
Back to the sky
Beak to the clouds
Bawk to terminate the hurricane wind
To save the drowning men
And to feed the hungry babes
Storm chickens did come bwak to their coop!
