Co-op Online Games

Post by IndifferentPerson » Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:03 pm

Me and a few friends are thinking of co-op online games to play together on evenings but we're having a hard time coming up with stuff we haven't tried or that we don't want to.

Would be grateful for suggestions, even if some may be repeats of what we thought.

Defiance seemed fun, to me at least.

You should play "Divinity: Second Sin"

Its a great co-op game and me and my friend had a lot of fun playing it. Highly recommend!

Thanks for the suggestions so far, having spoken a bit with them, if you can think of any, we favor survival/horror games.

Myself and Kash had a lot of fun playing Farcry 3 Co-op and a Splinter Cell game in co op too.

Also played some Dead Island with someonehere, which was also a lot of fun.

And, yes to what DM_Ironfist said above. For a good while now I have been thinking about trying to grab Arelith peeps to play a few rounds of Left 4 Dead.

How well does CK2 translate into multiplayer? It always seemed like it'd be really messy.

Diablo 3? Torchlight 2?

And Daedin, play far cry 3 coop with me dammit. I love that game.

Torchlight 2 is fun, but unless you really like clicking on things, it wears thin pretty fast. Co-op makes it go longer, because you're hanging out with a friend or two while you do it, but the problem remains.

L4D and L4D2 are good if you aren't sick and tired of zombies yet (same for Dead Island, actually).

It's way WAY off genre from survival/horror, but for sheer fun-factor (and PC couch co-op, which is sadly lacking these days) it's hard to beat Megabyte Punch. Action platformer where you build your own robot from the wrecked remains of those who dared to challenge you? That's a fistful of awesome for fifteen bucks.

There's also the glorious Metal Slug, which has made its way to Steam.

I can never quite understand why you'd play it any other way. It can get very brutal if you actively go against each other however. Good, good fun. Very SoFaI ish.

CK2 is great, provided you're in the same country. Otherwise you get perpetual out-of-synchronization errors. However, I hear that Paradox have done some work to fix it lately.

I actually highly recommend Two Worlds 2. The single-player game is awful, but the co-op campaign is actually a lot of fun.

I would personally love for any multiplayer L4D or CK2.

You're right. Participating in the forums was a mistake. Won't do this again.

Try Orcs Must Die Unchained. Its sexy, in closed Beta right now but keys are easy to come by. Lots of fun.

Dead island. That is all.
