CD Key oddity

Does there happen to be any known way a server can glitch and think a players CD key is already in use when it isn't?


I seem to be having troubles with this recently.


And if so, is there any way to fix this?

Now and then when I crash out of the game, the server will still think I'm online for a little while, and it will give me that sort of message if I try to log back on before it realizes that it isn't communicating with my client anymore.

Could it be that, or is this happening the first time you try to log on for a session?
