Avatar!
Alright nerds, I'm on a presently on a Avatar: Last Airbender binge (no, not the blue people and not the movie). I would like to ask the community: if you were a bender, what kind would you be, and why?
Me? Obvious.
Where they lack in brute force they make up for in ingenuity and ruthlessness. When they needed to take the air temple? Easy, climb the wall or make a blimp. Need to capture an ocean ice-fortress? Build an armada of really, really big boats. Need to penetrate a really thick stone wall? Build a giant drill, which totally isn't a metaphor for fire nation's desire to compensate.
Also, never suffer cold tea ever again.
Completely not motivated by this comment.

Water, because ... hurricanes are bad-arse. Besides, that's where fish live. Love fish.

Might be in the minority here, but I'd say water. Just feels like the most versatile overall, if combining healing, kinetic manipulation of it, the ability to freeze it, so on.
Also, bloodbending, which is a sub-school of waterbending for some reason. Coolest thing in the series. Though I don't get why you'd need to bend someone's blood when humans pretty much are like, walking cucumbers when it comes to how much of our bodies is actually water. Science.

Because "cytoplasm bending" doesn't sound as cool as "blood bensing".WhereButterfliesGoToDie wrote:Though I don't get why you'd need to bend someone's blood when humans pretty much are like, walking cucumbers when it comes to how much of our bodies is actually water. Science.

Fire, because a select few of them can bend even lightning!
Re: Avatar!
I think I would be air - fast movement and almost-flying sounds fun, also the combat abilities are pretty nifty in their own way. And I think it's just the philosophy that suits me best.

Re: Avatar!
Water.
It's the fluid of the motions; the versatility it represents what makes it beautiful.
While, for similar reasons, I'd also lean toward the freedom of movement that entails air, air does not bend tangible forces, it doesn't control that which can be touched.
Because how else would you make an ice spear out of a tiny bottle? (Or five hundred of them if you have a good source of water)

Earth. Reminds me of fortitude and strength.

Fire, because I'd have a red color theme and red is cool. Makes you go faster.

"Let go your earthly tether..."
Probably air or water, but that's self-diagnosis.
I've a feeling most people who know me would say I'm earth, and would be an earthbender. Which is fine because lava.

Would have to say water, definitely. I love the idea of healing, which is what I do on any RPG/MMO/Game I play: Heal
