Aside from the entire script being a mess, mobile notifications should now be a thing, albeit it does often like to do double notifications on both platforms now.
Possibly more than double.

Needs tweaking at a later point.
Or sooner, depending on how broken it is.

Some minor changes to how Do Not Track was being handled, and how file updates were handled in the backend.
Hence why you might've seen the thing be down every so often.
Might be having troubles still. Trying to monitor it, at least.

Fixed an issue with the task rebooter.
Updating should no longer stall when the last task ends.

Fixed an issue rooting from invalid characters in character names, which corrupts the JSON response from Arelith's API.

is it possible to make this topic sticky? is an awesome tool for old and new players alike.

Scheduled a system restart monthly because apparently the new certificates wouldn't apply until the server was restarted.

Trying out a darker redesign.
Old one is still backed up, in case you still miss it.

* This does not include other parts of the playerlist yet, merely the front.

If it can be selectable, that would be great, to read the new one I need to raise the brightness to blindness levels or get very close to the screen.

Sure, I can make an option for the old style (and/or a newer, but brighter base).

Are there any specific parts that are harder to see?

Added an adjustment button on the top. Should give higher contrast.
Doesn't do a thing in the other pages yet.

Might work a bright theme later; but that'll do for now.

I've taken pictures of my DELL P2715Q monitor so you get an idea how it does look.

Ok, so there's a reference, I've used this forum:

Perfectly readable at night, with a single low power light in the room.

This is how the new playerlist looks:

New playerlist with high contrast:

If the effect of clicking the new button would be loading the old color scheme, it'll be just fine.

Will you be making one for the EE server?

Sorry, but this utility creeps me out. Great tool for stalkers. :?

On the other hand, great tool for tracking down quarter-loggers

Like anything ever has or ever will be done about quarter loggers.

There is a quarter beside the Cordor Theater, the owner of which I haven't seen on in ages.

Because what we need as players is a utility that lets us get weird and hyper-personal about other people's playtimes and quarters.

Its frustrating, yeah, but I wasn't meaning to derail the topic. I appreciate the work Chip's put into the player list and hope he continues on doing so with EE

I don't feel I'm derailing the topic. As someone who has dealt with online stalkers in the past, the idea that someone can see exactly when, who and how long I played is disturbing.

I'm not too keen on it.

Got a real 'rear window' vibe when I was at first a little weirded out that all my characters and playtimes were visible, and that I was suddenly creeping on other people just because it's there.

I guess the question is, why does it exist? Is the default Portal not enough info on who is playing?

Can I opt out of having my info presented on this third party website?

Third party unofficial scraping my info w/o my permission, I want out of it.

Same. I'm paying into this server because I enjoy the server, the committed dev team and the community. I don't agree to have third parties trawling my info. Hate to be "that person" but this unsettles me enough that I might reconsider supporting Arelith on Patreon.

I don't really see much problem with it. It really helps me track down people who I may need to meet up with if it's just me missing them or if they haven't been online.

Not saying it doesn't have its legitimate uses. It should be an opt-in thing, not the default.

Disclaimer: I am not associated with Arelith's Development Team, this is a hobby project, it is not to replace any part of content provided by Arelith itself.
It's API that can be datamined or something, "public" or some such, I'm not clear on the terms.

Though I'm still not a fan of it.

That doesn't change the fact that it's a third party collecting my info without my consent.

I really don't care how useful other people find this tool. There's a myriad other tools you can use to keep up with players. I don't want to even log in if anyone can snoop me.
