Beloware the issues I have with each system (reason I use both):

Click: Crappy pathing

Point and click is much safer. You still are moving to your destination when you lag with point and click. If it lags with WASD you are all of a sudden teleported back to where you started holding down your keys.
Besides, you can speak while walking.

I use WSAD. But, I have W as run, A as walk, and X as backward. For some reason I thought this was not the norm, but maybe it is.

Somehow I find WASD (or spacebar) more interesting, simply because I then have to concentrate and make minor adjustments. Clicking is more boring, I just watch. Is that a weird reason?

Q - Step Left
W - Walk Fowards
E - Step Right
A - Turn Left
S - Run Fowards
D - Turn Right
X - Step Back
Despite using 7 keys all the time, the N52te turns it into natural fluid movements for me.

I also use this though, so walking with the keys is substantialy easier then the mouse. I actually never use the keyboard unless I'm typing.(I even use the device above to Shift-Click)

It doesn't make that big of a difference in functionality unless I'm on a mage.

Mostly Click-to-Walk. I do this so I can have hands-free to type if I need to emote.
(Edit: After reading these other posts, I'm going to try some of the other methods mentioned.

More WASD than clicking, but I do click to move very often.

Like Kuma, I have 'forward walk' bound to my spacebar. So I use that in conjunction with A and D keys.
While I do shift+click occasionally while adventuring, I truly only use 'click movement' in combat. Where the keyboard is ignored except for hotkeys.

I remapped "Walk" to the space-bar to make it easier, otherwise, it's "DRIVE MODE"

I would use clicking more if the waypoint systems wasn't so flawed and kept me from walking into cliffs and random objects and then getting stuck, so 70% of the time I will wasd. If I am talking I will click ahead talk then take over with wasd after I talk.

For me it depends, normaly mouse, but when the server is bussy or internet is slow, its the keyboard.

I'm not sure I've ever used the keys for walking, it's just too labour intensive.

I use Drive Mode about 97% of the time, here. I probably clickwalk for 2 minutes out of every hour on Arelith or something. I like using the keys, it's more fun having direct control to me at least.

Both. Really a good balanced amount of both. There are good situational reasons for either of them, which is why I would not like seeing either of them gone.

I mainly use the WASD, and have separate keys for walking and running.

I
usually move with the keyboard.
- W=Run Forward
- A= Turn Left
- S=Reverse
- D=Turn Right
- Q=Strafe Left
- E=Strafe Right
- R=Walk Forward
During terrain issues I will usually switch to mouse-movement. Having been informed once that using WASD to move is more taxing on server gameplay (I did not verify this but due to the nature of the thread assume it was true), I will occasionally intentionally switch to mouse movement just to save the server some stress for someone who might need it on a crawl somewhere.
I also switch to click-movement for RP during travel. (Although monks can make this difficult!)
During combat I move almost exclusively with WASD and use the mouse only for targeting (and very sharp turns).

I'm a bit concerned now, is the method of walking that is less popular going to be tossed out?

WASD can't be tossed out, but the server could probably limit the resources allocated to pathfinding, (click-to-move) which would help to speed things up.

No.
We're investigating the best method of implementing sticky combat modes (so e.g. expertise isn't cancelled by moving). Knowing how people move is important in making the right judgement call on how to implement it.
