July's bill - at $173.17 it's right in the middle of our usual range.

However, we only have $124.31 left in the account as of now - so we could use another round of donations! Thank you :-)

Have you considered using Patreon?

I'd wish Arelith had a Patreon page set up.
It'd be a really good platform for funding the server.

Anyhow, sent a donation earlier today/was it yesterday.

I'm broke this month, so I haven't sent anything in. I'll resume soon as my situation improves.

If we go by extra taxes, here's paypal with a 10€ donation:
€0.10 EUR fee if you use your PayPal balance and/or a bank account.
€0.74 EUR fee if you pay using your credit or debit card.
Personally, I'm unable to pay with anything other than a credit/debit card.
In short, the fee really isn't much. We really, really, should go with Patreon.

Paypal is free for most US transfers, and seems to have a fee between 3-5% on foreign currency donations (I'm also not convinced the exchange rates are very good).

However, since our playerbase is about 50% US based, it seems like Paypal is the best way to go for now.

Serious question, why not implement Bitcoin donations?

Because Google charges in dollars.

So I can pretend like I will donate. ;D

No, seriously. I have a thing against PayPal, and I'm wondering if there is any other way to donate.

Currently, we have about another three months of money stockpiled, so we're good through the end of January. Thank you to all who have contributed!

So, no need to donate while spending all your money on Christmas presents, but we'll need to top up again after Christmas :)

Time and money amount to about the same thing, at least for Mithreas I'm sure. I expect he's had to use his own funds to keep the server going in the past, and if were to be paying him for his time? I shudder to think how much that would be.

I really woudn't blame him if he decided to stop funding Arelith. He's effectively buying presents for a community he geniunely valued, and its great pity that a very small minority, were not only ungrateful for those efforts, but also, sometimes, downright rude.

But, overall, I have a really high opinion of our players, as I'm sure he does. I'll be posting various updates in the coming days, but on this issue; don't worry. If it really comes to it, I'd step in and pay the shortfall myself (at least until the server was back on its feet financially)

Haven't donated in ages.
Throwing some dosh now.

On the subject itself: Could we get the paypal account on the main post of this thread?
Eases finding out where to send said dosh. I'm assuming the account shown in the Donate page is valid, seeing that I just sent for there.

The donation account has just under a month's worth in it ($166).

Scholar Midnight is looking at a cheaper, better hosting option, so we may be able to significantly reduce the monthly cost.

Your bank can usually set up an auto payment but i guess that would be strange to have it sent to a paypal address. It was my question as well.

This one should be used:
https://www.patreon.com/arelith

Though patreon might not work for everyone, for whatever reason, then Paypal is the way to go.

You can use your PayPal account for the payments through Patreon. So if you have a PayPal account, just create a Patreon account and click the PayPal option for the payment.

This is really cool! I for one really appreciate the transparency! Ill be sure to make a donation soon. Bank looks to low for my liking :)
I also learned the new terms Mebibyte and Gibibyte even though I've been working in IT for years now LOL!!

You folks who run this/these server(s) are amazing I can't believe how awesome a world you have created and maintain.
