TGA file viewer

Post by Kreydis » Mon Mar 11, 2019 3:59 pm

Does anyone have a program that can let me mass search through my TGA's to find a specific portrait I'm looking for? Or at least one that makes thumbnails for the *Insert curse word here* thing?

The ones I tried using didn't support pressing arrow or other keys to move down the list inside a folder. Nor did they create a thumbnail. I remember a while back ago there used to be a suggested viewer that CraigOnion had with his arelith portrait community pack, but I seem to always manage to never find the thing I'm looking for unless it's on accident.

I know its not really a photoviewer, but libreoffice can read and show them individually.

Doesn't create thumbnails but thankfully it let's me scroll though. So thanks! I'll be using this for now.

As to Leshpar. . . that's what I was unfortunately using! Thanks for responding however!

I use XnView Classic.

Scroll down past the pay section, and click the download button on the right for the Extended Version. https://i.imgur.com/PawM13j.png

-Opens quickly
-Lets you save a tga as a different format individually
-Arrows keys/Scrolling doesn't work, but PageUp/PageDown do
-Doesn't create thumbnails in the folder, but if you click the file tree button on the top left after opening an image it will let you view the folder from within XnView and does display thumbnails there https://i.imgur.com/mjU57SC.png
-Has a button to convert an entire folder of tgas into a different format all at once. Just select the images to convert(by pressing and holding Ctrl while left clicking each image you want converted, or press Ctrl-A for the entire folder) and click the convert button, and follow the window pop up. https://i.imgur.com/12Gkz1I.png

EDIT: Arrowkeys/scrolling accidentally said does work- they don't, only pageup/pagedown do.

I use XnView also. designed specifically as a multi-format viewer, it is very good for zipping through all those portraits to find just the right one.

I'll check that version out! I'd been using classic since before that one was released, so just been sticking with what I knew. Lol

I've been using a free version of IrfanView for about 10+ years. It opens most image file types, does conversions to different file types, and allows you to open other image files in the same directory as the original you opened (i.e. your NWN portrait folder) by tabbing through with the arrow keys.

Also good for viewing your screenshots folder by date of picture taken, quickly.

Sage Thumbs. It will let you view tga's in your file explorer like you can with regular image files

When I was doing CaGUI (browsing and editing hundreds of tgas), I used FastStone Image Viewer. I has all, what one can need/require.
