Group Concept: The Dark Society of the Sword

Post by Dagonlives » Wed Nov 07, 2018 6:06 pm

Black Mother Andunor, in Sovereign Splendor stood, and on her dark streets were the finest murderers bred and born on the Isle. Raised in the dark, and forged by the cruel calculus of survival, many of it's more prominent citizens and outcasts band together to form a new martial school, to offer instruction to potential grand champions, and further the imperial interests of the Black City...

What is this concept about?

This is an attempt to create an evil aligned fighter's guild, that can work towards facilitating the interests of Andunor's cosmopolitan population Serving as both a military company, a training school, and a warrior-cult, the Society of the Sword seeks to bring many different martial talents under one banner and mission, exploring the warrior's path amorally.

Why would I be interested in this concept:

A mish-mash between the various monsters and outcasts of Andunor, a fighter's guild is one of the few factions not currently present in the black cit,y and presents an opportunity for experiencing a concept within a more military styled background. Piracy, reaving, and arena combat are all fun additions to the setting of arelith, which can be explored within this concept.

Recommended Alignments:

LE, NE, CE, TN, on case-by-case basis.

Evil concepts will all be at home here, though chaotic evil may have trouble with some of the more enforced standards such as chains of command or uniforms. Neutral concepts may work on a case-by-case basis, but Good characters will find it impossible to maintain their ethical standards in this organization if they embrace it fully.

Recommended Races:

Human, Drow, Half-orc, Orog, Duergar, Deep Gnome, Ogre, Gnoll. Other races may join, but would be on a case-by-case basis. Elves, dwarves, hin and other goodly races may struggle in this environment, but the Society prizes competence above all else.

Ideal Gods or themes:

Dieties of War, conflict, death, or knowledge are particularly prized for this concept.

Examples of character concepts that might fit in:

-An exiled Helmite Knight, banished for his advocacy of extreme methods joins the Society of the Sword to practice his knightly martial arts, and further his craft as a personal bodyguard and mercenary.

-A Drow Blademaster offers his resources and expertise to the School in exchange for cultivating students that he can use for his own purposes.

-An Orog Warlord and Cleric of Gruumush finds compact with the raiders and reavers of the society, seeing it as an opportunity to test himself against the strongest warriors.

-A Sharran monk-assassin joins the warriors-cult, seeing it as an opportunity to network with other fighters, and futher his own bloody craft, ingratiating himself with the many warriors who may become future targets..

-A gnoll barbarian, with an unsual intelligence and cunning for his base kind, carves a place in the Society due to sheer competency and ferocity displayed despite his humble circumstances as a mere mosnter.

-A warmage of the drow sees the society as an option to further his own craft, practicing his destructive art in the company of some of the finest reavers in andunor.

-A palemaster human sees the Society as an option to explore the bonds between life and death, and martial skill, pushing his body to the limit and hardening it against all steel and pain.

-An Ogre chef, who eats all of the people he kills studies his gruesome craft while practicing with his grand cleaver and serving as a decidedly terrifying addition the school as it's cook...

PM me if you have interest in this concept. I'm looking for players who are willing to have some fun within the group setting of Arelith. Level or build is not a consideration, though be advised this faction may regularly engage in player on player conflict both inwardly and outwardly.
My Rp kinda like droppin' a betta in an otherwise serene fish-tank.

Current Concepts:
Jhaamdath Wenchslayer, Drow weaponmaster and pirate captain

Eruantien Chil Ryilnn Aelorothi Aleansha, War-mage and Diviner of Evermeet. .
