HOI IV

Already few months playing with mr redhawx Hearts of Iron Iv in various mods (Millenium Dawn, WWI, and vanilla) in cooperation for fun. We could use a third player :roll:

I could be talked into dusting of HOI IV if the AI has improved. My previous memories of the game are that the AI's lack of sence made the game very unsatisfying as it was prone to getting involved in huge wars in which both sides stranded their troops out of supply and nothing happened.

The AI can still be baited into smashing troops into close fights, but is largely much more content to fight a holding action (they also make much greater use of naval invasions and the like than they used to, as well) - they no longer, however, will do stupid things like throwing their troops into a wall of 10/10 Forts. Infact, I've not seen the AI bother attacking provinces with better than 6/10 Forts for a long time, unless they had grossly superior firepower to the garrison units.

AI in paradox games will never really be anything more then a numbers game of waiting until they do something stupid, that they think is smart.
