Exile in the Leadership Challenge?
Recently goblin Karma got exiled from the Andunor because he tried to take the leadership from the Cyrics, because to him they're "surface trash" who should not have any rights, powers or property in the Underdark since monsters, drows and duergars dont get any up in the surface.
Exile was sort of expected if I lost but what happended was that Karma got exiled in the middle of the leadership challenge, which left me little mixed feelings. Kinda cheap cheating, even if Andunor is the evil lair of scum and villainy.
And yes, I sent this question as the PM to the DMs
Is this kind of action breaking the "Be Nice-rule?"
Because if it's not, I see high danger of settlements kicking out all the rivals in the second they try to step in.
What do you players think?

I think that questions about rules, regarding specific IC situations, belong in PMs to the staff and not on the open forums.Petrifictus wrote: ↑Wed Jun 20, 2018 3:29 pmIs this kind of action breaking the "Be Nice-rule?"

Doesn't stop anyone from voting on the exiled PC.
Re: Exile in the Leadership Challenge?
no it doesnt stop anyone from voting for the exiled, but it is in poor taste just like having gank teams in place to stop voting

Re: Exile in the Leadership Challenge?
Do exile's persist between elections? So if he is exiled, and then won, would he even be able to get into the district to un-exile himself?
honestly seems poor taste

You're auto unexiled if you win. This has never been a problem before.JediMindTrix wrote: ↑Wed Jun 20, 2018 3:43 pmDo exile's persist between elections? So if he is exiled, and then won, would he even be able to get into the district to un-exile himself?

Re: Exile in the Leadership Challenge?
If anybody is exiled and they're "nobodies" without power, someone else taking power changes nothing unless the exile is manually lifted after.
Re: Exile in the Leadership Challenge?
this also isnt the first time this has happened in the election process mentioned by the OP. its more of an OOC thing imo to stop the election process from being used, which in reality its other players with their toons saying hey maybe its time for a change

Sounds IC to me. It's not a bid for the mayor of the Sharps, or the governor of Guldorand, or whatever, the notion its a democracy should be thrown out the window. I don't think there's enough tyrant RP where the leader out right says that any attempt at taking the position from him is a crime (sentenced with corpsebash).
Re: Exile in the Leadership Challenge?
If it's IC for a player to say "Hey, maybe time for a change", how is it not also IC for a tyranical and evil regime to also say "Change without our allowance is illegal, you're no longer welcome here under pain of death".Ebonstar wrote: ↑Wed Jun 20, 2018 3:58 pmthis also isnt the first time this has happened in the election process mentioned by the OP. its more of an OOC thing imo to stop the election process from being used, which in reality its other players with their toons saying hey maybe its time for a change
Like was mentioned earlier, if you win you won't continue to be exiled.

This seems perfectly IC to me. Exiling political dissidents is hardly a new tactic.

Re: Exile in the Leadership Challenge?
Seems in-character for a tyrant to exile his political opponents. It could make it harder or easier for the exile to win depending on public opinion. Since you're asking our opinions, I think this should be roleplayed out.
Characters: Xun'sali (ACTIVE), Tianae Tymeaneldth (Rolled), Sylali (Rolled), Magpie (Rolled), Ker'uanna Tymeaneldth (Rolled), Lepota Poklona (Rolled), Andariel Bloodletter (Shelved), Tahl'tril Cyredrretyn (Rolled), L'omithiel (Shelved).
Re: Exile in the Leadership Challenge?
Hey, just curious. How this gang team will know whom are you voting for? Unless you tell them?
Also They cannot camp there 24 hrs. While i agree both, eixling during elections and pvping opposition is leaving bad taste, They can know a shitte until you in fact, tell.
You cannot go around shouting you are going to be new boss and how you would screw half of the district like goblin Karma did. It was a huge mistake, turning instantly lots of voters / characters against him. Instead of moving in secret gaining support he has gone to open conflict, leading to pvping and exile.
He could instead smartly undermine the leadership, gain support, and when taking over, then kick all those people he wanted out. The way of acting he chose, in fact effectively cut him off from any further, possible support. Noone wants to support a crazy goblin who's first step was to piss off almost more than half of the city. And, if any faction would previously think investment into him would be benefitting, would reevaluate that.
No...he went straight ahead, head on versus most factions around, angering each of them by one or multiple things he has done, and it ended as it had to...
Re: Exile in the Leadership Challenge?
Topic shouldn't have been created to air grievances over the forums over actions IC. Please address them to the DM team via PM for future reference.
Thanks.
