Request: Timezones
Hello everyone,
this is a question of sort, but I think in the end, more of a request actually.
Arelith has a playerbase that spans over the whole globe, with hotspots in the US, EU, and AUS.
For that reason it's pretty cool that many of you include RL times and timezones when you coordinate OOC stuff, or IC meetings with OOC times.
However those of us not based in the US, it's a bit of a chore to keep up with US timezone names. Double that with daylight savings, and whatnot.
You may know your corresponding GMT modifiers, but a lot of us don't. This is especially annoying when you're ingame and read "7 pm PST" or "8pm EST" and have to tab in and tab out, search for the right page and research if you can attend or not. Call me lazy, but it's happened in the past that I just decided that some event is "probably" out of my playtime and I needn't bother checking.
That's why I'm asking if it's any trouble for people to include your current GMT modifiers for easier reference in posts, both IG and on the boards?

Re: Request: Timezones
I'd hazard to guess that for most of us in the US, its the other way around. We all know our timezones but 90% of us would have to look up our GMT time.

GMT is the global reference timezone.
You only have to look it up once for yourself.

Re: Request: Timezones
Timezones are always bothersome to work with. I personally think all event times and similar situations should post in GMT. Additionally, if you need your current GMT offset, you can see it at the bottom of the page - look for the "All times are UTC<offset>", which is the same as your GMT offset.
