For those who don't know the guy, Hugh Masekela was an impossibly kewl grand old man of South African jazz and afrobeat music, may he rest in peace with all the groovy people. Beyond just music, Masekela's work has been an emblem of the fight for peace against apartheid in South Africa and other forms of oppression across Africa. He's also brought the musical and cultural heritage of South Africa known to the world. May his legacy shape this cruel world a better place!
I'll be dropping a quote from the description of his first album, Grrr, that stuck with me, but for now... cue the music, maestro!

Re: RIP Hugh Masekela
The man was indeed a legend and oh so humble and down to earth. I fortunately had pleasure of collaborating with him, to create a xmas promotional video back in 2016. He was quite the animated fellow in front of the camera. He'll be missed

Very nice! Found the quote "He is of the sort who shoots from the fire only to remember the beauty of the flame."
