So my old pc went the way of the Dodo. Nwn was not able to be saved beforehand. I do have my cd keys written down. Any idea where I can get a working copy of the game? I'm broke so as close to free as you can get.

Try some torents? You then just fill in cd keys.

Or buy new copy on GOG.com, it is few dollars.

Because people like to pack in malware with installers that you have to grant elevated permissions to run, just like you would a legit copy.

That's assuming you're on a public site. If you are on a private site go wild I suppose.

I would never ever trust a torrent site. THey are way too dangerous, even with good anti virus software. Even if you dont get a trojen, the copy you get is likely to be hacked up and will likely give you other problems. Avoid torrents like the plague if you can.

Better to borrow a friend's copy and put the legitimate cd keys in. I think that should be kosher, since he's already bought the game.

Know anyone Wendigo? I do have a friend who got a copy from someplace called gogdownloads or some such. Its NOT the real gog. I am hesitant to put it on my pc because of possible infection.

Buy it off the real site.

For future record, if you're able to save NWN's folder you are able to basically transplant this files without having to run through the install process. I've saved mine to a flash drive for this purpose.

Additionally email yourself your keys. So the only way you lose them is if Google or MS dies.

The GOG version is DRM free so if you have your CD keys you could get a copy from someone you trust if they buy it from the legit site. Or even split the cost if you don't need the keys and they do or something.

Otherwise it's $10 at gog.com to get a totally legit version.. The cost of one lunch any more.. And those people are doing good work so look at it like a public service if you need to justify the cost.

To answer, no I dont know anyone or anyplace offhand where you can get a copy of NWN for free. However, tI did once get NWN for free from GOG long ago when they ran a promotion for another agame. So sometimes you can get a legit copy for free, (Incidentally if you di get a free copy from a promotion use the keys they provide you, not your old ones).

Also the above should work. All you need is a cpoy of all teh game fies and your legit CD.
