is it possible to retroactively give gifts to us EE players...even if we get a heavy exp hit later?

I only ask because I would really like to make a pc and put some work in on EE but theres no gifts and no paths currently

Is the 'Distant Shores' EE module the phase 1.5 no wipes server?

Coolcoolcoolcool! One request for early adopters, then: Some path npcs added/paths by request? Like spellsword, warlock, etc.

Its currently not running with NWNX, So its not possible to get a path.

Yea. I meant more when NWNx is in, assuming we're past 'wipe is coming' mode.

so earliest is tues for nwnx is implemented?

There won't be further wipes no, unless something comes up we haven't foreseen.

Okay - the Distant Shores mod should be in a good place now and not need future wipes. Fingers crossed.

It's not NWNX enabled yet, so we've removed subrace options entirely to ensure that we have forward compatibility for characters created now.

The demo mod is still running as a fallback in case we hit problems... e.g. we found a new server crash recently (which the Beamdog team have already diagnosed and fixed for next update - beta testing in action :)).

We'll probably work on labeling the two servers a little more clearly, and the demo one will go away once we're confident we have a stable beta.

Subraces are disabled, how about custom classes? Can I make a warlock, totem druid or wild mage? Is the ECL gift system in place, because without that maybe I don't want to make a character I intend to keep long term?

I don't have the game yet to test, as you may imagine, but will pick it up when a module is in full swing and I am sure a character I create can go the distance if I like them.

Nope! All of these use NWNX functionality.

It is not - characters created now will have early mover advantage in that you can start earning XP but will not have as many character creation options so will probably not be as strong as those created later.

Of course, you can have plenty of fun with vanilla characters - and once the NWNX release is out the full range of options will be available as today [though we will probably keep UD subraces disabled until the main server is ported].

What about prestige classes that normally require tokens? Harper Scout, Assassin, Palemaster and Shifter? Should requests for those on the new server just be sent to the active DM team as usual?

That's a MAYBE that distant shores has things like gifts and paths in.

Neat! When phase 2 hits, is there any chance whatsoever of lowbie chars getting ported over? Maybe one per player?

I dont think so? At the least I would guess. But It would be nice. Means you could make a reward charather..

My daughter sometimes asks for cookies and I have to say no because it’s not a good time. She will then employ some of the same tactics I see here, saying please please please, just a little bit!! *putting her fingers as close together as possible without touching* .. even going so far as to tell me that she will eat all her dinner and she won’t tell mommy...

Like any of that has any barring on the fact that we don’t have cookies ...

The characters are probably not getting ported over.

It’s a test server...

Also why not just work on a current arelith character those characters are being brought over just fine.
