Wouldn't even have to do that, a lot of steam games already have and use cd-keys; from the pool given/sold to Valve. They're just not easily player viewable; though some games have the option to right click them and view your cd-key. Which is mostly used to register for third party services.

This is correct. A lot of the Dawn of War games show you what your cd key is when you boot it up for the first time, and allow you to copy it to your clipboard.

Trent Oster We’ve been working a lot with NWNX and where it made sense we’ve moved features into the core engine

Anyone who posts this is crazy. NWN is about to enter a second golden age, and in under two hours you'll all find out why!

Found out nothing. No details about what exactly is happening. Just a bunch of opinions on "Oh they did this to other games and it's awesome." That's great and all but I don't care.

See...once the "dev team" or "admins" or Iron, or whatever decided this is the way to go, the choice was made for all of us. Which means none of the other things are really relevant. The most important part of this for me, and I imagine most others, is when is this happening, and how much is it going to cost me?

That's it. None of the rest of it really matters.

I imagine there is some sort of non-disclosure agreement that will expire shortly.

Please be patient, if so.

I, for one, welcome our new Beamdog overlords.

These bugfixes make me think that it won't really be possible to have some people running the old version and some running the EE on the same server.

Watching the livestream.

-resolution revamp
-advanced video options of course
-will increase cpu requeriments of course "You can't buy those old computers anymore"
-We don't want to cut any content, we'r focused on making it bigger

They haven't discarded adding spells or feats    They said "We see this as a platform, so there is so much we can do"

They aren't ready to talk about expansions.

Goal of opening things up and "Un-hard-coding" third edition rules.

Will you add drow in-game ?
"Drow are already in the game there's nothing stopping you"
;P

New master server and new cdkeys.

They "fixed" the metamagic "bug" so casting metamagic will no longer apply that metamagic to the item you use thereafter. A quality of life downgrade for casters, but oh well! xD

Correct, that isn't possible. Changes to the network code makes it impossible for an old client to connect to a new server or a new client to connect to an old server.

I wonder who goes to this announcement and complains about the metamagic bug dude! So many questions and you go ask that...

Well if there will be a new master-server with new cdkeys i think the question goes beyond bugfixing.
