Mighty Rage!
So I'm pretty unclear about what mighty Rage for Barbs actually does. I do understand that it says "removes crowd control and debuff effects"
Does this mean it removes it AND makes the Barb Immune to crowd control and debuffs for the duration of Rage? If anyone can make clear of this, I would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. THANKS!

Re: Mighty Rage!
My reading of the update was that rage can now be used while under the effects of CC, and that mighty rage now breaks those.
Re: Mighty Rage!
You're fighting a mage. The mage hits you with a Hold Monster. You fail and are paralyzed. Unfortunate.
However, you have mighty rage. You hit rage, and are released from the hold monster. You're not immune to another hold monster (Beyond your large save increase from raging) but are now free to smash the cowardly wizard.

And when we break loose, are we then immuned for the duration of it? What do you think?

No. You're not immune for the rest of rage.Hunter548 wrote: You're not immune to another hold monster (Beyond your large save increase from raging) but are now free to smash the cowardly wizard.
It's a "OH <insert generic swear word> I NEED TO BREAK FREE OF PARALYSE" button

Re: Mighty Rage!
Yet another update that makes assassins worse by all but ensuring that death attack(and attacks with a certain poison) is useless at all times. Who decided Barbs needed a second -pray command?
Plays: Durvayas(deleted), Marco(deleted), Hounynrae(NPC), Sinithra Auvry'ndal(rolled), Rauvlin Barrith(Active), Madeline Clavelle(Shelved)
Re: Mighty Rage!
Probably somebody who thinks barbarian should play like a standard mmo class with CC-removal and other nonsense.Durvayas wrote:...Who decided Barbs needed a second -pray command?
Also... Assassin-buffs when?
Re: Mighty Rage!
This reminds me of the final fight scene in Fire and Ice. The awesome animated movie from the late 70's with Frazzetta artwork. The wizard Necron tries a control spell on the barbarian (who was freaking awesome) but he breaks free and chops him on the side with his axe. If you have not seen this movie it's a must do kinda thing. The scene where he rages on the group of primitive men is great as well. Rage!
Re: Mighty Rage!
So, now a mage has to disable a barbarian 3 times in a row to be able to kill them? Because you sure as hell are not beating down that 1000 hp(2000hp if they have a greater restore scroll, and even more if they pray) with other spells before they kill you.
Re: Mighty Rage!
Their will is no longer off the charts, so clarity down time is dangerous for barbarians now without proper itemization/building.
Re: Mighty Rage!
But a barbarian built correctly or itemized with artefacts? What of Barbarian/Blackguards? Now even on low rolls they get not one out of jail free card, but two?
With the addition of pray and now 50% + 10/- acid resist armors, even acid sheath is useless, no breaching required. You arnt going to kill yourself taking 18 acid damage a round while hitting 50 a hit (+5 weapons in easy access as well) on a class with 1/3rd the hp as you.
Im not advocating anything for mages here, but simply curious of the interactions between the two in a fight.

Re: Mighty Rage!
It is not "free", it takes an epic feat with the hefty requirements of 21/21 STR CON (already blocking out your Barbarian/Blackguard from taking it if they want good CHA). Not to mention its rage extension of 1 turn means they have longer down time from re-initiating their rage.
On the topic of artefacts, I cannot balance anything taking them into account, due to their rarity and power.
@Durvayas, on the topic of assassin, maybe I have something for rogues and assassins, operative word: maybe.

Fighting a barbarian makes the wizard stupid, rather than cowardly.Hunter548 wrote:...free to smash the cowardly wizard.

This ability is copy pasta from league of legend's 'barbarian'.
Currently playing: Seth Xylo
Re: Mighty Rage!
Olaf temporarily becomes immune to disables.Astral wrote:This ability is copy pasta from league of legend's 'barbarian'.
Passive: Olaf gains 20/30/40 Armor and 20/30/40 Magic Resist.
Active: Olaf removes all disables from himself and becomes immune to them for the next 6 seconds. Olaf also receives a 50/60/70% Movement Speed bonus towards enemy champions for 1 second. During this time, Olaf loses the passive portion of Ragnarok and gains 40/60/80 Attack Damage.
Re: Mighty Rage!
Would you like ENDLESS RAGE instead?
Re: Mighty Rage!
The barb's will is no longer sky-high, and they've historically also had low reflex. It's difficult to build to cover both without sacrificing hp. I personally would go for cloud spells to kill a barbarian.Giftstoff wrote:But a barbarian built correctly or itemized with artefacts? What of Barbarian/Blackguards? Re: Mighty Rage!
League of legend's barbarian is just copy pasta from D&D. Let's provide constructive feedback instead of off-handed remarks.Astral wrote:This ability is copy pasta from league of legend's 'barbarian'.
You're looking at this linearly. Hunter provides an effective counter + don't forget mages have the ability to 'Gsanc' to escape the Barbarian during rage.Giftstoff wrote:So, now a mage has to disable a barbarian 3 times in a row to be able to kill them? It's hard to not copy League when they simply invented so many mechanics.
