Logging in in the first place.

I swear I cannot go a game session without doing something IC that someone gets angry about.

Are you saying your RP has effects on others? How dare you?

That assumption was one of the many stupid things I did.

I used to leave little skull/arm bone/thigh bone offerings at appropriate altars, dropped on the ground. Only realised later that there's a cleanup script so chances are no one saw it.

On making new character, sort inventory + set up -save macro on F12.

I carry a ridiculous amount of small misc. uses/day or charge items, all of which have a very specific situation for their use. Situation arises that I've prepared for throughout the entire character's lifespan and... Forget that I have the item.

Speak to every NPC at least once. It's a Zelda thing...

Having an entire conversation in *unintelligible gibberish* due to originally thinking that it would help with learning a language to try and practice it.

I hoard gems with all my characters.
I keep stupid amounts of items to throw to specific characters.
Probably my worst sin; I never attack first, even when PvP is imminent.

Make the wrong scrolls and wands, even though i have everything writen in my journal, with exact amounts of exactly what scrolls and wands i need, i still sometimes just completely forget certain ones, or make duplicates of others for no apparant reason.

I also get inventory blindness.. where im looking for something in my inventory, and i might go through each page like 3 times before i finally find what im looking for.

Or i will put something in one of the chests in the cordor quarter, then later check the other chest and be like "hm, i must have left it in bendir" so i rush all the way over to bendir and then im like "im stupid" and go all the way back to cordor again.

When I do text macros for description and letters, I always put them in F12 (which is where examine normally is). Half the time I forget to put examine back in there and it ends up whispering whatever it is out.

Speaking to the NPCs is a good idea! I was shown one by Irongron recently and the dialog was quite engaging believe it or not!

I was actually sitting there thinking about how I wanted to respond. I've not had an NPC dialog script make me do that before.

Some are more mundane then others, but i'd definitely take the time to investigate what NPCs have to say

As far as a dumb thing for me?

I was rapidly clicking through options trying to respond to a situation and I hit the "Jump all players command" Luckily, this brings up a box that asks "Are you sure? Yes / No"

I moused over yes, all of this happened in a second... Then paused to read what it said right before clicking.

It was almost very bad.

There used to not be a confirmation for that option in ye olde days and it was about as bad as you'd think it was with a server of 75 people.

Dumb Things I Do: does hitting Tab every .5 seconds count

One of the stupidest things I tend to do in game is try to emote too much during fights, be they against PCs or NPCs. And so I am sitting there typing some kickass emote...whilst having some baddie wailing upon my character. It often ends up poorly for some reason :(

1.
Low level druid this was my go to idiot mistake:
Cast everything but the one spell I really need. Change form when I only have 1 or 2 uses a day.

Realize about 5 seconds later.

2.
Forget the party composition, especially as it relates to condition immunity.

Example playing with a party of characters all immune to poison and meeting someone on the path. After some RP they join up. Proceed to run over a poison trap because everyone is immu.... dammit.

- Time to time send a PM tell to a wrong player because I clicked a wrong portrait and did not see it.
- Forget sometimes to change "whisper" back to "talk."
- Forget sometimes to change "gnome or animal" language back to "common."
:)
