Hey, does anyone have any personal experience and reviews of it's multiplayer features?

Not yet. I did play Divinity Original Sin 1 with a friend and we had a great time. Now its up to 4 player coop so I would think it would work and behave the same as the first one just with more friends. If its anything like the first one I'd say it's pretty damn good.

You'll always have fun moments in the dialogs as players can all interact and chip in and if you are disagreeing with eachother you can use your social skills / ranks to boost your aguments. It's a pretty fun mechanic.

I've played Divinity Original Sin thoroughly in coop and purchased the second one (intend to start playing it this weekend in coop as well!) and I can only sing praise about how great it is. Divinity: Original Sin was as fully cooperative RPG in that, as ActionReplay said, you could even disagree with your partner, and no character was more main than the other, both had equal weight in the story, and both could sway the direction of the plot with their own decisions, and winning their arguments. You could even assassinate any one NPC on your own while your partner didn't agree with it, which could lead to drastic plot shifts!

Divinity: Original Sin 2 seems to build upon that fundament, only now you can have up to four players and a game master. The Game Master usage is optional and works much like your traditional Dungeon Master. Create maps, creatures, treasure, or simply take existing modules and direct your players through it. Obviously the game is limited to 4 players, so the Game Master mode is more meant as either casual fun or a PnP-like experience, and never a full fledged PW, but since these are Arelith forums, I thought it was relevant mentioning.

I'll expand on this once I've played it across the weekend if I get the chance, I'm truly looking forward to it!

Elunya - Witch for Hire and Artifact hunter
Velaria Moonblade- Wandering Outcast Ronin

I would highly recommend the multiplayer co-op in both the original and the recently released sequel!

Divinity 2 definitely suffers less from the case of expositional word-vomit that divinity 1 had, it's also polished up a lot of the games features, movement no longer costs all the action points in the whole world. Magic doesn't suck periwinkles for damage output, speed is normalized across all classes, weapons don't cost different amounts to use, and the list goes on.

For multiplayer, they've also tightened up the experience. Everyone can pursue their own origin story, and even have secret quests the rest of the party isn't aware of (like pulling off an assassination without alerting the rest of the group), which makes it feel like all 4 characters really matter in coop.

I would definitely give this game a strong recommendation.

Divinity 1 and 2 are the ultimate coop games, if you're looking to play something with a good friend for a long time. To me Divinity 2 definitely feels like an enhancement to its prequel.

It's probably a good idea not to play when you're tired or feel distracted, because the world is so vast. If I have trouble concentrating, I find it easy to be overwhelmed and not be able to enjoy the good stuff, like the delightful dialogue, animated characters, and the fun and challenging mechanics.

From the little I've played so far DOS2 is the first game to capture the feel of PNP DND. I think this is largely due to the impressive sandbox environment and turn-based combat with initiative that allows plenty of time for contemplation of your party's next move (which in my childhood DND group could take hours).

It is superb.

Anyone want to start a Multi Player campaign for some Arelith people. To Role play through maybe once a week? Would be fun to role play through the world of DOS2 with the awesome talent of Arelith Role players. I am EST and generally available after 8pm EST. I am good for tonight, or this Thursday!

I've been playing the Divinity series for years and have now been playing Original Sin 2 for about 12 hours with a group of four.

It is fantastic. It has its flaws, its drawbacks, but it has me on edge waiting for our next chance to play (Thursday! So far away!).

D:OS 1 has been the best RPG co-op experience I've ever played. Even though it can be super finnicky, you have no idea what's going on with the story, and there's some ARGH boss fights. It's still crazy fun. I can't wait to play the sequel.

I played D:OS 1 quite a bit before, but never finished it. With D:OS 2 coming out, I decided to give it a whirl again...this time with my son, who is starting to get into these sorts of games (at last!). The writing is quirky and often amusing, whilst sometimes eyeroll worthy. The combat is beautiful and I love the turn based strategic play of it. I wish so many other games had chosen to do such a thing (looking at you PoE and games like you) since it is still my favorite style of play.

It is so much more fun playing co-op and has gotten me hungry to play D:OS 2 once it has been polished up a bit more, especially since it seems like so many have been enjoying it even more than the first one.

My siblings got me to try this game and the first one (Never finished) , which is super challenging. I love the interactive elements of combat and the story so far is so rich with intriguing characters. My one gripe is they added the evil race of dwarves. My enemies are spilling into new worlds and must be stopped!

It's a pretty great game. My only gripe is purely mechanical - in that, outside of extremely niche character builds like a poisonspamming Undead spellcaster, there is basically no build that cannot be improved by being an Elf. Elf OP. Elf is, hand over fist, the most mechanically powerful race.

Death to evil dwarves!

Been playing since release at Tactician mode (essentially the hardest mode available outside of Tactician+ironman). I played the first one too, which was ok, but had lots of issues (i.e. rogues could steal the crap out of everything and sell it for way too much gold).

Hardest mode so far is quite hard, and I've wiped at about 1/4 of the encounters. I don't mind that the mobs are buffed a lot, but they also get +5 to initiative and encountering a whole group without cheese (i.e. not pre-buffing) can cc lock your party until they all die.

This is coming from a Pillars of Eternity player that plays on Path of the Damned (hardest mode) with only two characters (they are level 10 now) and only having wiped about one or two times.

In conclusion, I find PoE a much more mature playstyle and game overall. DOS2 is very much like DOS1, but some things ironed out for smoother gameplay. If you like DOS1, then you will like DOS2. Also, almost all interactions so far have been voiced acted which is a nice touch.
