Arelith on a GPD Win Handheld
Yes, it is possible
Even though it's more of a hassle than anything else, since the elements/fonts are rather tiny, the keys hard to press so that you can´t type too quick and the nature of the emulated mouse is not the most convenient way either. But all in all it works better than I thought and is okayish if you just login to make a few errands or shopalongs.
The emulated mouse uses the right stick for movement and the left shoulder button for leftclicks. I put the cameramovement on the x y a b buttons. That way it is ok, but in hectical situations you are doomed :/
Nonetheless a handy way to have Arelith always with you in your pocket!
*Thumbs Up*

Re: Arelith on a GPD Win
Well done.
Re: Arelith on a GPD Win
Back when I first joined the server circa 2008 or so, I recall a thread where people were asking what the playerbase wanted in a sequel to NWN. One of the first answers was, essentially, a portable version you could shove on a DS or whatever.

Christ, this is fantastic. Would it work on a 3DS? Any way it could be modded with a voice-to-text? How well could it work if you just wanted to play a sword n' board?

Re: Arelith on a GPD Win
As a kid back in the ninetee's, when laptops were really expensive and not a consideration at all, I also dreamed of a portable computer that is small enough to put in your pocket.
But what do you think makes a 3DS better? Text to speech would be amazing, but not if it has auto correction lol That could be very funny
When I read the comments, it feels like you think it was hard to install - I didnt mention that it is a windows 10 machine. And that is what's so great about it: You can run almost all emulators (specially those that need a keyboard) and many old games with an "on board gamepad" - and as a client for steam inhome streaming. It is pretty well but lacks a clickable stick.
As a veteran of Arelith, I bought it with this game in mind for sure
DMing or serious RPing is not what you would want to do, but a sightseeingtour or light RP is no problem. Running into monsters when you are not overpowered is a bit risky, since the emulated mouse is not the fastest. It has a touch screen, but it is too tiny for it (1280x720 on a 5.5" screen).
What I forgot to mention in the original post: The left stick is for zooming in/out and the left dpad/crosspad is for freely walking like when you hit the arrow keys. I prefer my Laptop anytime over it, but I like the idea to being able to log into Arelith anytime, even though I mostly do not
Since it only has Wlan, you need a personal hotspot for 3G/4G etc from your smartphone or something.

My family were all knights, but none protected those who cannot fight for themselves. They all cared about their noble status more than anything else.I would be a true knight,i would train on the ways of the paladin -Arcavius Ryde

playing on mobile means you can happily leach wifi at any number of public places. Hell, set up a box or tent and call it your new home now that you are jobless.

In character, you could be a faction leader and a very influential person.
But in real life, you're a rugged homeless who smells like dirty socks.
And if you can find a hot-spot by a busy street corner, then you get to panhandle while playing Arelith. That is a total win-win situation.
Now, how do i get NWN to work on Marshmallow?

Just instead of the usual zombie mumble of 'braaaaains', they go like "Aaaartifaaaacts", "Griiiiiind" (then hasty, whispered) "1k to ki critical, 1k to ki critical", "neeeeerf... timestop..."Fidelkoven wrote:Oh yeah, I envision a new worldwide epidemic - Arelithian Zombies.

Re: Arelith on a GPD Win Handheld
Hehe i understand the iphone-comment. But believe me, this device is the most perfect thing for Arelith on an iphone/handheld-formfactor unless nwn is reprogrammed an downloadable on the app store.
But you might ask "why don't you run Arelith on a tablet?". Well, you either need a keyboard/trackpad attached, which transforms it into a notebook more or less and if you have a wireless keyboard/mouse then you have to handle 3 devices. That kills the formfactor.
I had a Dell Intel Atom Windows tablet and it was not convenient to shuffle with 3 devices - in comparison to an All in One Handheld. But i was impressed how long it took until the battery had to be recharged while being fanless on these Intel Atoms.
On my MacBook the battery is burnt very fast plus the fans get louder sometimes. I have to have it plugged in. But of course all the rest is way better The display, the illuminated keys, the size, the speakers, the controls... ok the camera controls not so much if you use the touchpad - in this regard the handheld is better but inferior to a mouse obviously. But hey, you can attach a keyboard, mouse and display to it as well.
