Not sure if anyone here really cares or not but today /tg/ seems to have taken a keen interest in Arelith and I thought I'd share the link I got.

What do you think? Most comments on Arelith are nearer the bottom.

No clue about that, I haven't been here long enough to know although I have heard that before back when I used to play on Amia. Not those two specifically but that story.

It's a very well circulated myth if it isn't true, I daresay it probably isn't.

Hah, I remember when I started a thread on the old forums about LGBT issues and everyone was rushing to defend the gay characters/marraiges. Never knew that Arelith had this reputation, but I haven't had any problems with people calling me out on it, at least I've never had any problems in the few times I've told people I'm gay, personally.

EDIT: For real though Arelith does have a major anti-LGBT reputation, largely because of the ban on gay marriages from a few years ago, but as another gay dude IRL, I can pretty happily say it isn't the case any more. Just people have long memories.

When I first joined the server, in 2007 (ish), there was a very firm anti-gay policy** that was driven top-down. Even if DMs voiced opinions, it was always in a matter of "if you imply it, or do it discreetly, or don't make a big scene about it."

So some of the sentiment of this thread, isn't that far off. Arelith did treat sexuality in a very, very poor manner.

That said, I think we've come a long way. As Kuma said, better now.

I've come across arelith on 4chan before. The reason why our server has such a controversial reputation is because we've such a high export of toxic banned players.

I guarantee everyone boast-plaining about our server mechanics/DMs on there didn't leave Arelith by choice.

(also, it's incredibly easy to tell who is who on these trashtalking threads. )
